Create an automation rule: trigger, conditions and actions. Pro plan.

Inoreader API: https://cotlet.dev/docs/api/inoreader.md

`POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/inoreader/rules`

Access: write. Confirm: waits for the user's OK before it runs.

Creates a rule in the Automate tab. Scope sets the trigger (account, feed, folder or tag), conditions match on title and/or content, author, URL, language or RSS category and are joined with any (OR) or all (AND), and actions can assign a tag, save to Read later, mark as read, send by email, notify or call a webhook. Rules need the Pro plan and count against its 30 rules. Email and webhook actions reach other people and services. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool.

## Parameters

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `name` | string | yes | Rule name. |
| `scope` | enum | yes | account, feed, folder or tag: where the rule watches for new articles. |
| `scope_name` | string | no | Folder or tag name, or feed ID. Required unless scope is account. |
| `operator` | enum | no | all (AND) or any (OR) for the conditions. Default: all. |
| `conditions` | array | yes | Objects with field (title_or_content, author, url, language, rss_category) and contains. |
| `actions` | array | yes | Objects with type (assign_tag, read_later, mark_as_read, email, notification, webhook) and value where one is needed. |
| `run_on_existing` | boolean | no | Also run the rule on articles you already have. Default: false. |

## For AI agents: sign your user up

Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.

1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.

One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
