# Search contacts

`GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/ringover/contacts/search`

Access: read.

Searches the Ringover contact directory by name, phone number or company and returns each match with its numbers. An empty list means no contact matches, which is normal for a first-time caller. Use the number as to_number in send_sms.

## Parameters

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `query` | string | yes | A name, a phone number or a company. |
| `limit` | integer | no | How many contacts to return. |
