Set contact properties and add or remove tags on a contact.

Tidio API: https://cotlet.dev/docs/api/tidio.md

`PATCH https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/tidio/contacts/{contact_id}`

Access: write.

Sets the contact properties you pass by name and leaves the others. The property must already exist in Settings > Fields, and the agent cannot create one with it. It sends nothing to the contact, and a wrong value is undone by calling it again, so it needs no confirmation by default. It returns the contact after the change.

## Parameters

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `contact_id` | string | yes | Contact ID from list_contacts. |
| `properties` | object | no | Property names and their new values. |
| `add_tags` | string[] | no | Customer tags to add. |
| `remove_tags` | string[] | no | Customer tags to remove. |

## For AI agents: sign your user up

Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.

1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.

One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
