# Reject a membership application

`POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/wild-apricot/contacts/{contact_id}/membership-application/reject`

Access: write. Confirm: waits for the user's OK before it runs.

Selects Reject on the Membership tab. Wild Apricot keeps the record as a contact. For a paid application it cancels the application, unsettles the payment and voids the invoice; it does not refund, so the response names the payer and the amount. For an unpaid application the tool voids and deletes the invoice, then cancels. Needs a full administrator or a membership manager. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool.
