# Correct a 123FormBuilder submission and resend it

> Fix a typo in a 123FormBuilder submission, keep the report in sync and resend the notification email, which API v2 cannot do.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/123formbuilder-api-mcp-server/correct-a-submission-and-resend

A respondent writes to say the phone number in their entry is wrong. Someone opens Results, edits the entry, and then has to remember to resend the email that the team already acted on.

Cotlet does it in your own 123FormBuilder account with list\_submissions, get\_submission, update\_submission and resend\_submission, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can 123FormBuilder do this on its own?

123FormBuilder API v2 reads a submission and can change only its payment and approval status (checked 23 Oct 2026). Help-center answers say the content of an entry cannot be edited through the API. Resending an entry exists only in the app. Both gaps are the job here.

## How you do it in 123FormBuilder today

1. In the Form Editor, click Results and open the Submissions tab, where every received entry has its own line.
2. Click the entry you want to change, then press Edit in the lightbox that opens.
3. Change the data the respondent provided and click Update Submission.
4. Optionally, click the entry again and press Resend to send it to your inbox with any email template set up in the form's notifications.
5. The default report updates by itself. A custom report keeps the old content until you click its Update link.

## How to correct a 123FormBuilder submission and resend it

Prompt

```
In the Contact us form, change the phone number in Ana Lopez's latest submission to 555 0143, then resend it to my inbox.
```

1. 01
### Find the entry
Your agent calls list\_submissions for the form with a since date and matches the respondent by name or email in the answers. If two entries match, it stops and asks which one you mean, because Edit rewrites the data in place.
2. 02
### Read it as stored
get\_submission returns every answer with its field label. The agent compares the old value with the one you asked for and refuses to change a field that does not exist on the form.
3. 03
### Write only what changed
update\_submission sends the changed fields only and reports old and new values. Respondents are not told by default. If the form has the edit submission option turned on, the app resends the notification or the autoresponder itself, and the reply says so.
4. 04
### Resend on request
resend\_submission runs only when you asked for it and the edit did not already trigger a resend. You name the email template; the agent does not pick one for you.
5. 05
### Remind you about reports
If the form has custom reports, the agent lists them as needing an Update click, because the app does not refresh them after an edit.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Contact us, submission from Ana Lopez (Oct 21)
Phone: 555 0142 -> 555 0143
Default report updated
Custom report "Weekly leads" still shows 555 0142: click Update
Notification resent to ops@yourcompany.com (Copy of submission)
```

### Other ways to ask

- Fix the misspelled company name in all entries from this week, one by one, and show me each change first.
- Show me the entry for ana@example.com but do not change anything.
- Edit the entry and email the respondent the autoresponder again.

## What 123FormBuilder allows, and what to know first

- 123FormBuilder lets the form owner edit an entry; respondents are not notified of an edit by default.
- The edit submission option in Settings, Advanced, Submissions can resend the autoresponder to form users and the notification email to the owner and recipients every time an entry is edited.
- The resent autoresponder needs field variables in its text to show the new values.
- The default form report picks up an edit automatically; custom reports need a click on Update.
- Editing or deleting a submission does not update product stock levels.

update\_submission and resend\_submission ask for your OK by default. To run it on a schedule without you, switch confirmation off for those tools in your dashboard.

## Call update\_submission from a script

curl

```
curl -X PATCH https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/123formbuilder/forms/5128403/submissions/91827364 \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"values":{"Phone":"555 0143"}}'
```

Example response

```
{
"submission_id": 91827364,
"form_id": 5128403,
"changed": [
{
"field": "Phone",
"old": "555 0142",
"new": "555 0143"
}
],
"notifications_resent": false
}
```

## Frequently asked questions

### Does the respondent get an email when my agent edits their entry?

Not by default. 123FormBuilder notifies only if the form has the edit submission option turned on under Settings, Advanced, Submissions, and the autoresponder holds field variables.

### Is it safe to connect 123FormBuilder to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to 123FormBuilder yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get 123FormBuilder once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.
