# Summarize Aircall calls and list the action items

> Read the AI summary and action items of yesterday's Aircall calls in one list per teammate, from Claude Code, n8n or a script. Hosted.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/aircall-api-mcp-server/call-summaries-action-items

Aircall writes a summary and action items for each call, but they sit inside each call. A manager who wants yesterday's follow-ups opens the calls one by one.

Cotlet does it in your own Aircall account with list\_calls, get\_call\_summary and get\_call, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Aircall do this on its own?

Aircall shows summaries only per call and has no daily list across calls (checked 23 Oct 2026). Its REST API serves transcription, summary and action items per call, and the official MCP beta can search them read-only, if you are enrolled through your Account Manager, have the AI add-on and an Admin who can create API keys connects it for everyone.

## How you do it in Aircall today

1. In Aircall Workspace the user opens a conversation and clicks a call bubble, which expands to action items, AI insights (customer mood, key topics, call summary) and the voicemail transcript.
2. The Show call details icon in the top-right of the bubble opens the full view with the recording player and transcript, for users with recording access.
3. In the Dashboard, Admins and Supervisors open the Conversation Center to find calls, listen, read transcriptions and see AI insights when AI Assist is on.
4. Action items can be generated by AI or added by hand, and every call is opened separately.

## How to summarize Aircall calls and list the action items

Prompt

```
For every answered call of more than 2 minutes yesterday, give me the summary and the action items. Group the action items by teammate.
```

1. 01
### Pick the calls worth reading
list\_calls takes yesterday's answered calls on the lines you name and keeps those above your duration. Insights exist only for calls over 1 minute, so shorter ones are left out before any lookup.
2. 02
### Read the insights
get\_call\_summary runs per call and returns the summary, customer mood, key topics and action items. A call that was not transcribed, or had no Aircall user on it, comes back with available: false and a reason, and the agent counts it instead of guessing.
3. 03
### Check what a seat cannot see
Aircall shows insights only to users with an AI Assist add-on. If your seat has none, every call returns unavailable, and the agent stops after the first with that reason, instead of querying the rest.
4. 04
### Group by teammate
The agent takes the teammate from list\_calls and groups the open action items under each, with the caller and the call ID, so each person gets their own list.
5. 05
### Open the full call on request
For a call you ask about, get\_call adds the notes and the voicemail transcript. The recording link and transcript come back only if your Aircall user has recording access.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Answered calls over 2 minutes, 22 Oct: 12
Summaries read 10, unavailable 2 (no transcription)
Ana Silva:
- Send corrected October invoice by Friday (Luis Ortega, call 1437758774)
Mood: 7 neutral, 2 positive, 1 negative
```

### Other ways to ask

- Every Friday, list the open action items of the week per teammate.
- Show only the calls where the customer mood was negative, with the summary.
- Summarize the voicemails left on the Support line today.

## What Aircall allows, and what to know first

- Aircall shows action items, customer mood, call summary and key topics only to users with an assigned AI Assist add-on.
- For a call handled by a human agent, Aircall generates insights only when the call is transcribed, lasts over 1 minute and has an Aircall user on it.
- Aircall transcribes a call right after it ends, which takes about 30 percent of the call duration, so yesterday's calls are ready and a call from 5 minutes ago may not be.
- Transcription must be on in the line settings and works only for recorded calls.
- Custom summaries need AI Assist Pro and Aircall does not generate them for past calls, so this job reads the standard summary.

Every tool here only reads, so it can run daily from n8n, Make, Zapier or cron without waiting for your OK.

## Call get\_call\_summary from a script

curl

```
curl https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/aircall/calls/1437758774/summary \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY"
```

Example response

```
{
"call_id": "1437758774",
"available": true,
"summary": "Luis asked why his October invoice shows two seats. Ana found a duplicate and promised a corrected invoice by Friday.",
"customer_mood": "neutral",
"key_topics": [
"invoice",
"duplicate seat"
],
"action_items": [
{
"text": "Send corrected October invoice by Friday",
"done": false
}
]
}
```

MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is aircall\_read → get\_call\_summary. Example data.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it safe to connect Aircall to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to Aircall yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Aircall once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.
