# Chase unpaid Alegra invoices by email

> Find overdue Alegra sales invoices with their balance and send each one again to the client with a reminder subject, on your OK.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/alegra-api-mcp-server/chase-unpaid-invoices

Every Monday you scan the invoice list for anything past its due date, then email each client by hand, and the ones you forget stay unpaid for another week.

Cotlet does it in your own Alegra account with list\_invoices, get\_invoice and email\_invoice, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Alegra do this on its own?

Alegra has an API that lists invoices by status and due date and emails them, and Zapier has a Send Invoice action (checked 14 Oct 2026). Alegra's official MCP server can read the same invoices but cannot send anything. No Alegra feature mails clients a reminder for an overdue invoice.

## How you do it in Alegra today

1. You open the Ingresos menu, choose Facturas de venta and scan the list for invoices past their due date.
2. You open each invoice to see the total, what was already paid and what is still owed.
3. You send the invoice to the client again by email and can edit the text of that email before it goes.
4. You type the reminder wording yourself each time, because Alegra's email template is one text for all invoices.
5. Alegra Help also lists an integration that sets due-date reminders in Slack, which is for you and not for your client.

## How to chase unpaid Alegra invoices by email

Prompt

```
List my open Alegra invoices that are past their due date. For each one, send the invoice again to the client's email with the subject "Reminder: invoice {number} is overdue" and send me a copy.
```

1. 01
### Pull the overdue list
list\_invoices runs with status open and a due date before today, and the agent follows the cursor until the list ends, so an older backlog is included.
2. 02
### Check the real balance
get\_invoice shows total, total paid and balance for each one. An invoice with a zero balance, or one paid since the list was read, is dropped from the run and named in the report.
3. 03
### Skip clients without an email
A contact with no email address cannot be reminded. The agent lists those invoices for you to chase by phone or another channel.
4. 04
### Send the invoice again
email\_invoice sends the invoice to the client with your reminder subject and, if you asked, a copy to you. Alegra builds the body from its template, so the subject is where the reminder wording goes.
5. 05
### Report per client
The agent groups the result by client with the amounts owed, so you see who was reminded, who was skipped and the total still open.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Overdue open invoices: 3 (total balance 2,001.70)
Reminder sent: 2
- Northwind Studio, FV-0038, balance 1,130.50, due 2026-09-30
- Lumen Dental, FV-0035, balance 571.20, due 2026-09-22
Skipped: 1 (Harbor Cafe, FV-0031, balance 300.00, no email on the contact)
Copy sent to you: yes
```

### Other ways to ask

- Show me everything overdue by more than 30 days with the balance, but do not email anyone.
- Remind only Northwind Studio about its open invoices, with the subject "Friendly reminder".
- Every Monday at 9:00, send reminders for invoices overdue by 7 days or more and list the rest.
- Total what each client owes me today and sort by the biggest balance.

## What Alegra allows, and what to know first

- Alegra invoices have the statuses open, closed, draft and void, and a reminder run only makes sense for open ones.
- Alegra shows the total, the amount paid and the balance for each invoice, so the agent reports what is still owed and not the original total.
- Alegra can send the invoice as the original or as a copy, and can send a copy of the email to the user who triggers it.
- When no subject is given, Alegra sets a default subject for the invoice email.
- The invoice email goes out through the template "Correo de envío de facturas de venta", edited under Configuración > Notificaciones y correos.

email\_invoice asks for your OK by default. To run it weekly without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

## Call email\_invoice from a script

curl

```
curl -X POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/alegra/invoices/1038/email \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"emails":["accounts@northwind.example"],"subject":"Reminder: invoice FV-0038 is overdue","send_copy_to_me":true}'
```

Example response

```
{
"invoice_id": "1038",
"sent_to": [
"accounts@northwind.example"
],
"subject": "Reminder: invoice FV-0038 is overdue",
"copy_sent_to_you": true,
"sent": true
}
```

MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is alegra\_write → email\_invoice. Example data.

### Is it safe to connect Alegra to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to Alegra yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Alegra once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.

## For AI agents: sign your user up

Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.

1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.

One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
