# Reschedule a Bandsintown show or mark it sold out

> A show moved, sold out or was cancelled: the agent finds the Bandsintown event, changes only what changed and decides who hears about it.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/bandsintown-api-mcp-server/reschedule-show

The promoter emails that Leeds moves a week, Berlin is gone by Tuesday, and Lyon is off. Each change means finding the event in Bandsintown, editing the right field and deciding whether every follower should get an alert about it.

Cotlet does it in your own Bandsintown account with list\_events, get\_event, update\_event and delete\_event, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Bandsintown do this on its own?

Bandsintown handles these edits only in the dashboard (checked 12 Oct 2026). The public API reads events but cannot change them. The Edit events article covers single edits and a bulk edit of the same fields across published events, and it describes no postponed or cancelled status: a cancelled date is removed with Delete. Bandsintown does not tell waitlisted fans when tickets come back, and it leaves the alert decision to whoever edits the event.

By hand

## How you do it in Bandsintown today

1. Open Events in the Bandsintown for Artists dashboard and click the show to edit; drafts and published events open in the same form.
2. Change the date, venue or ticket link, then check the Notify my Followers toggle: Bandsintown sends an alert for a published event unless the toggle is off.
3. For a sold out show, change the ticket link type to Sold Out in the Bandsintown event form, which swaps the RSVP button on the Widget and Smart Link for a Waitlist button.
4. For a cancelled show, click the red X next to the event on the Events page and confirm Delete in the popup.
5. Bandsintown's bulk edit on the Events page only helps when several published events take the same new value. A message with three different changes still means three separate edits and three notification choices.

With an agent

## How to reschedule a Bandsintown show or mark it sold out

Prompt

```
The Leeds show moved from 14 Nov to 21 Nov at the same venue, and Berlin on 3 Dec just sold out. Update both on Bandsintown and do not notify followers about the sold out change.
```

1. 01
### Find the one event each change is about
list\_events narrows by date range and city from the message. If two events match (a matinee and an evening show), the agent reads both with get\_event and asks which one moved instead of editing the first hit.
2. 02
### Change only what changed
For a new date the agent keeps venue, lineup and links, and checks whether the ticket link still points to a valid purchase page. A link the promoter replaced is swapped in the same call, not left to a second edit.
3. 03
### Decide the alert per change
A new date or venue is something fans who bought tickets must hear, so the agent proposes notify\_followers on and waits for your OK. A sold out label, a typo or a link fix goes out with notifications off.
4. 04
### Sold out without losing the link
The ticket link stays and its type becomes sold\_out, so the Waitlist button appears. If you later say tickets were released, the agent sets the type back to tickets and reminds you that waitlisted fans need a post or email from you.
5. 05
### Cancelled means delete, with a check
delete\_event runs only after you confirm, because a deleted event cannot be restored and would have to be re-created. The agent first reads the event and gives you the date, venue and links, so you can keep them for a later announcement.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Leeds, Brudenell Social Club: moved 14 Nov to 21 Nov 2026, 20:00. Followers notified after your OK.
Ticket link replaced with the new promoter link (type Tickets).
Berlin, Columbiahalle, 3 Dec: ticket link set to Sold Out. No alert sent. Waitlist button is live.
Lyon, Le Transbordeur, 6 Dec: deleted after your OK. Saved details: 19:30, link tickets.example.com/yourband-lyon.
No other events changed.
```

### Other ways to ask

- Every show on the UK leg moves one hour later. Update the start times and do not alert anyone.
- Tickets for Berlin are back. Switch it from sold out to tickets and draft a short post for fans in Berlin.
- The Paris show moved to a bigger venue. Change it and notify followers, since that is news fans need.
- Read this promoter email and apply any date, venue or link change it mentions, asking me before each alert.

Before you automate it

## What Bandsintown allows, and what to know first

- Bandsintown recommends turning Notify my Followers off when editing a published event and leaving it on only for details fans need, such as a venue change.
- Marking a Bandsintown event sold out replaces the RSVP button on the Widget and Smart Link with a Waitlist button; fans who join it are added to the event's RSVP list and follow the artist.
- Bandsintown does not notify waitlisted fans when more tickets are released; the artist does that with a Post or an Email Campaign aimed at the event's RSVPs.
- An event shows one ticket label in Bandsintown, such as Tickets, Free or Sold Out, and when several links exist one must carry the Tickets label.
- Bandsintown's Delete removes the event from the artist page; to remove an event from a page you do not manage, Bandsintown asks you to email artistsupport@bandsintown.com.

update\_event and delete\_event ask for your OK by default. To run it on a schedule without you, switch confirmation off for those tools in your dashboard.
