# Request Bizneo time off with an AI agent

> Check your Bizneo balance and who else is off, then send the absence request to your manager from Claude Code or a script, with your OK.

You want the week before Christmas off, so you open Bizneo, find the right absence type, check the balance and scroll the calendar for clashes, all before one click.

Cotlet does it in your own Bizneo account with list\_absence\_types, get\_absence\_balance, list\_team\_absences and request\_absence, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Bizneo do this on its own?

Bizneo lets an employee request an absence in My Calendar and in the mobile app, with the same form (checked 22 Oct 2026). Its HCM API v1 also has a Request Absence call, but API access is an add-on, and the call needs a numeric user id and absence kind id that you look up first.

## How you do it in Bizneo today

1. In My Calendar the employee clicks +Request absence, or clicks a day, and selects a range of dates.
2. The Absence type list shows only the types the company configured; if the one you need is missing, Bizneo tells you to contact your manager.
3. Some types allow a full day or only a few hours, and an hourly request needs a start and an end time.
4. The form names the manager, shows how much balance will remain, takes an optional comment and lets you upload a document, which the company requires for some types.
5. Below the form, Bizneo lists other absences and shifts on the same dates, as information only. The employee clicks Request to send it.
6. The balance and the overlap check are two separate looks, and a request can still be edited only until the absence starts.

## How to request Bizneo time off with an AI agent

Prompt

```
Request vacation from 21 to 23 December in Bizneo. Check my balance first and warn me if two or more teammates are off on those days.
```

1. 01
### Pick the absence type
list\_absence\_types gives the types your company set up and whether each accepts hours or needs a document. The agent matches "vacation" to the closest type and asks you when two types fit.
2. 02
### Read the balance
get\_absence\_balance reads what is available for that type. If the request is longer than the balance, the agent tells you the shortfall and does not send it.
3. 03
### Look for clashes
list\_team\_absences runs for the same dates. The agent reports who is off and warns you at the threshold in your prompt, here two or more teammates.
4. 04
### Send the request
request\_absence goes to your manager as pending. The agent adds the comment from your prompt, and the call waits for your OK first.
5. 05
### Flag a missing document
If the type needs a supporting document, the agent says so after sending, because documents are attached in Bizneo itself and not through this tool.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Vacation, Dec 21 to 23 (3 days)
Balance before: 15 days, after: 12
Off on those days: nobody on your team
Request abs_17021100 is pending with Carlos Vega
Document needed: no
```

### Other ways to ask

- Request a half day off next Friday afternoon and tell me if the type allows hours.
- Find the best week in November with the fewest teammates off, and draft the request without sending it.
- Show my balance for every absence type and request nothing.

## What Bizneo allows, and what to know first

- Bizneo shows only the absence types that your company configured, and your manager has to add a missing one.
- Bizneo accepts an hourly request only for types that allow hours, with a start and an end time for the day.
- Bizneo lets a company decide for which absence types a document is mandatory.
- Bizneo lets an employee change or delete a request until the absence starts, and after that only a manager or admin can.
- Bizneo shows the same request form on the web and in its mobile app, so the request lands in the same queue for your manager.

request\_absence asks for your OK by default. To run it on a schedule without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

  -d '{"absence_type":"Vacation","start_date":"2026-12-21","end_date":"2026-12-23","comment":"Christmas week"}'
```
Example response
```

"absence_type": "Vacation",
"start_date": "2026-12-21",
"end_date": "2026-12-23",

```
MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is bizneo\_write → request\_absence. Example data.
## Frequently asked questions
### Is it safe to connect Bizneo to Cotlet?
Yes. You sign in to Bizneo yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Bizneo once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.
## For AI agents: sign your user up
Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.
1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.
One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
