# Approve finished Breezeway tasks after review

> Check yesterday's finished Breezeway tasks against their checklists, approve the complete ones and reopen the rest with a comment. Runs daily.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/breezeway-api-mcp-server/approve-finished-tasks

Cleaners finish tasks in the mobile app all day. A supervisor still has to open each one, read the checklist and photos, and decide whether it counts as done.

Cotlet does it in your own Breezeway account with list\_tasks, get\_task\_checklist, approve\_task, reopen\_task and add\_task\_comment, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Breezeway do this on its own?

Breezeway's API has approve, reopen and checklist endpoints, but only with keys from the request form (checked 20 Oct 2026). The app has the Approved status. Nothing reviews the checklist for you.

## How you do it in Breezeway today

1. An administrator turns on "Approve tasks after completion" under Settings > General > Operations; it adds an optional Approved status for administrators and supervisors.
2. Staff finish a task from the mobile app with Complete, add an optional summary and save.
3. A supervisor opens the finished tasks on a department page, filtering by date or saved view.
4. For each task the supervisor reads the checklist answers and photos, then approves it.
5. A task that was not done properly is reopened, which puts it back in progress, and the assignee hears about it.

## How to approve finished Breezeway tasks after review

Prompt

```
Review yesterday's finished Breezeway tasks. Approve the ones with every checklist item done and photos where required, and reopen the rest with a comment.
```

1. 01
### List the finished tasks
list\_tasks returns the tasks finished in the date range you name, with the department and property. The agent keeps those not yet approved.
2. 02
### Read each checklist
get\_task\_checklist returns every requirement with its section, the answer, any note, and whether a photo was required and attached. The agent flags an unchecked item, a missing required photo or a note that reports damage.
3. 03
### Approve the complete ones
approve\_task moves a task to Approved. Breezeway allows this only for a task that was closed first, so a task still in progress is left alone.
4. 04
### Reopen the incomplete ones
reopen\_task puts the task back in progress. The agent sets notify\_assignees only if you said so, and add\_task\_comment leaves a note on what is missing.
5. 05
### Summarize for you
Each approve, reopen and comment asks for your OK by default. The agent ends with counts and the list of reopened tasks.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Finished tasks yesterday: 14
Approved 11
Reopened 3 with a comment:
- "Turnover clean, Harbor View 4": photo of the bathroom missing
- "Deep clean, Maple Cabin": oven item unchecked
- "Pool inspection, Harbor View 2": note reports a cracked tile
```

### Other ways to ask

- Approve only housekeeping tasks where all checklist items are checked, and show me the rest.
- Every Friday, list tasks whose checklist notes mention damage.
- Show finished tasks without a required photo, but change nothing.

## What Breezeway allows, and what to know first

- Approved is an optional status that only administrators and supervisors see, and it needs the setting "Approve tasks after completion" to be on.
- A task can move to Approved only if it was closed before.
- Reopening a task puts it back in progress; the API can notify its assignees if you ask it to.
- Staff can leave an optional summary when they complete a task in the mobile app.

approve\_task, reopen\_task and add\_task\_comment ask for your OK by default. To run it daily without you, switch confirmation off for those tools in your dashboard.

## Call approve\_task from a script

curl

```
curl -X POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/breezeway/tasks/4417295/approve \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY"
```

Example response

```
{
"task_id": 4417295,
"name": "Turnover clean, Harbor View 4",
"status": "Approved"
}
```

MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is breezeway\_write → approve\_task. Example data.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it safe to connect Breezeway to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to Breezeway yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Breezeway once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. ## For AI agents: sign your user up

Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.

1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.

One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
