# Invite Comeet candidates to pick their own interview time

> Send self-scheduling invites to every Comeet candidate who reached an interview step, instead of opening each step by hand. Runs daily.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/comeet-api-mcp-server/invite-candidates-to-self-schedule

Candidates reach the Interview step through the day, and each one waits until a recruiter opens the step and sends the invitation.

Cotlet does it in your own Comeet account with list\_candidates, get\_candidate and invite\_to\_self\_schedule, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Comeet do this on its own?

Recruit sends self-scheduling invitations from one candidate's interview step at a time (checked 22 Oct 2026). Its bulk actions cover email, status, position, tags, rejection and completing Go/No-go, administrative and send-notification steps, and not scheduling. No API or MCP call sends an invitation.

## How you do it in Comeet today

1. When a candidate reaches the Interview step, Recruit assigns the position's recruiting assistant to schedule it; without one, the interviewer sees it in My tasks.
2. The recruiter opens the candidate and clicks the interview step.
3. The recruiter clicks Schedule, then Invite a candidate to select a time.
4. In the dialog the recruiter checks the meeting room and the online meeting option, and reviews the message to the candidate.
5. Recruit sends it, and the step shows that the candidate was invited. The same clicks repeat for every candidate, and a missed one just waits.

## How to invite Comeet candidates to pick their own interview time

Prompt

```
List candidates in the Senior Product Designer position who reached the Interview with hiring manager step and have no invitation yet. Invite each one to select a time with my own video link.
```

1. 01
### Find who is waiting
list\_candidates runs with step set to the interview step and status in\_progress, and follows next\_cursor to the end. Candidates already scheduled are left out.
2. 02
### Skip the invited
get\_candidate shows whether the step already carries an invitation. The agent skips those, so nobody gets a second link.
3. 03
### Check the setup
Self-scheduling needs Auto-scheduling configured by an Admin and your own calendar connected. If it is not, invite\_to\_self\_schedule fails with Recruit's message and the agent stops before inviting anyone.
4. 04
### Send one invitation each
invite\_to\_self\_schedule goes out once per candidate with the meeting settings in your prompt. The candidate gets an email, so each call asks for your OK by default.
5. 05
### Chase expired links
On the next run, candidates whose invitation is older than 5 days are listed for you, because the link has expired by default.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Candidates at Interview with hiring manager: 12
Invited 8 (custom video link, link valid 5 days)
Skipped 3 (already invited)
Not sent 1: Auto-scheduling is not configured
Invitations older than 5 days: 2 (Priya Nair, Tom Becker)
```

### Other ways to ask

- Every morning, invite candidates who reached the phone screen yesterday and add the Zoom meeting.
- List candidates invited more than 5 days ago who have not picked a time, and draft a reminder for each.
- Invite only candidates for the Backend Engineer position, and send nothing for other positions.

## What Comeet allows, and what to know first

- The interview time selection link expires 5 days after it is sent, by default.
- Candidate self-scheduling needs an Admin to configure Auto-scheduling and the inviter to connect a calendar and set availability.
- Reserving a meeting room through self-scheduling needs Auto-Scheduling Pro.
- Native Zoom meetings are included in the Ultimate and Enterprise plans; a custom link works without them.
- A candidate who finds no suitable time can offer at least 3 windows of availability with a note to the interviewer.

invite\_to\_self\_schedule asks for your OK by default. To run it daily without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"step":"Interview with hiring manager","online_meeting":"custom_link","custom_link":"https://meet.example.com/northwind/hm-interview"}'
```
Example response
"invitation": "sent",
"online_meeting": "custom_link",
## Frequently asked questions
### Is it safe to connect Comeet to Cotlet?
Yes. You sign in to Comeet yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Comeet once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.
## For AI agents: sign your user up
Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.
1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.
One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
