# Get a weekly DaySmart sales report by employee

> Last week's DaySmart sales by employee and by day, compared with the week before and checked for open tickets, waiting for you on Monday.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/daysmart-api-mcp-server/weekly-sales-report

On Monday the owner wants last week in one view: who sold what, which days were slow, and whether anything is missing. In DaySmart that means a stop in Reports, two date pickers and a CSV per report.

Cotlet does it in your own DaySmart account with run\_report, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can DaySmart do this on its own?

DaySmart Salon and Pet have no reporting API and the Reports Management guide describes only Export (CSV) and Print on each report, with no scheduled or emailed delivery (checked 12 Oct 2026). The Dashboard shows a Sales Overview for a chosen day or range, and DaySmart calls it "meant for quick insight, not detailed reporting".

By hand

## How you do it in DaySmart today

1. Log in to the DaySmart cloud website, click More in the top navigation, then Reports.
2. Pick the Sales category, open "Sales By Employee Category", set the Date Range to last Monday through Sunday and apply the employee or location filters.
3. Click Export to download the CSV, then repeat for "Sales by Day of the Week" or "Sales by Week" and paste both into a spreadsheet next to the previous week.
4. Open "All Open Tickets" to see checkouts nobody closed, because only closed tickets count in DaySmart report totals.
5. Nothing in the Reports screen sends this on a schedule, so the routine depends on someone with the right role remembering it every Monday.

With an agent

## How to get a weekly DaySmart sales report by employee

Prompt

```
Every Monday at 7am, run last week's Sales By Employee Category and Sales by Day of the Week in DaySmart, compare them with the week before, and flag any open tickets.
```

1. 01
### Fix the week once
The agent sets the range to the last full Monday to Sunday in your business time zone, so a run on Tuesday still reports last week rather than a partial one.
2. 02
### Run the reports you named
It calls run\_report for each report name exactly as DaySmart spells it under Reports, then runs the same names for the week before, so the comparison uses identical columns.
3. 03
### Check what totals leave out
Before writing any figure, it runs "All Open Tickets". Open tickets inside the week are listed by employee, because their sales are missing from every total until someone closes them.
4. 04
### Report change, not just numbers
Each employee gets this week, last week and the difference. Moves over the threshold in your prompt (for example 20 percent) are called out first; everything else stays in one table.
5. 05
### Fail loudly on access
If your DaySmart role cannot open a report category, the agent names the report and the permission problem instead of sending an empty table that looks like a zero week.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Week 5 to 11 Oct vs 28 Sep to 4 Oct
Sam, Grooming: $1,420 (was $1,310, +8%)
Jess, Grooming: $980 (was $1,240, down 21%, flagged)
Retail: $310 (was $295)
Slowest day: Wednesday, $210
Open tickets: 2 for Jess (Thu 8 Oct), not in totals until closed
```

### Other ways to ask

- On the 1st of each month, run Sales by Month and Employee Performance Report for last month and send me the top three changes.
- Every Monday, run Gift Card Sales and Gift Cards Redeemed for last week and tell me the unused balance trend.
- Run Services Booked Online by Employee for last week so I can see who gets online bookings.

Before you automate it

## What DaySmart allows, and what to know first

- Only closed tickets count toward DaySmart report totals, so a checkout left open on Saturday is missing from the weekly sales until it is closed.
- Some DaySmart reports have no date range at all, such as "All Clients with a Balance (Tab)" and "Client Loyalty Point Balance", and some metrics only fill in with a Custom range.
- A DaySmart user role can lack access to a whole report category, and "My Totals Report (for employee logged in)" shows nothing to front desk or non-production users.
- DaySmart payroll and commission totals live under More > Payroll, not under Reports, and Payroll is visible only to users marked as administrator.
- The DaySmart "Sales by Week" report runs Sunday to Saturday, so its weeks do not match a Monday to Sunday range set on the other Sales reports.

Every tool here only reads, so it can run weekly from n8n, Make, Zapier or cron without waiting for your OK.
