# Create a DICE event draft with ticket types

> Turn a show brief into a DICE draft in MIO with venue, line-up, announce and on-sale dates and ticket types. Nothing is public until DICE approves.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/dice-api-mcp-server/create-event-draft

A booking is confirmed in an email thread: date, venue, line-up, door time and two prices. Someone retypes it into MIO's event form for every club night, then adds each ticket type by hand, and a wrong on-sale date is only spotted after the announce.

Cotlet does it in your own DICE account with list\_events, create\_event and add\_ticket\_type, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can DICE do this on its own?

DICE has no API to create events or ticket types (checked 12 Oct 2026): the Ticket Holders API reads events, drafts included, and documents no mutations. Events are created in MIO only, and DICE reviews what it lists: its MIO user guidelines let DICE refuse or remove any event listing for any reason.

By hand

## How you do it in DICE today

1. Sign in to MIO and start a new event; DICE's terms require the full event information (venue, performers, dates, times and any age restriction) before the announce date.
2. Type the line-up and the description, leaving out links to other websites, email addresses and phone numbers, which DICE's terms do not allow in event information.
3. Set the announce date and the on-sale date in MIO; DICE allows the announce to come before the on-sale or at the same moment.
4. Add each ticket type with its face value and allocation, and a door price if tickets will also be sold at the door.
5. Submit the event for DICE's review. Retyping the same form every week is where a wrong date, a missing age limit or a price in the wrong currency slips in.

With an agent

## How to create a DICE event draft with ticket types

Prompt

```
Set up a DICE draft for our 14 Nov club night at The Warehouse, 22:00 to 04:00, 18+, DJ Orla and Kest, announce 15 Oct and on sale 16 Oct, with early bird at 15 USD for 100 and general admission at 20 USD for 250.
```

1. 01
### Read the brief, ask for the gaps
The agent takes date, start and end, venue, line-up and prices from your message. With no age restriction or end time in the brief it asks before creating anything, since DICE expects both in the event information.
2. 02
### Reuse the venue you already play
list\_events finds your past events at the same venue, and the agent passes that venue's ID rather than a typed name, so the draft does not point at a near-duplicate venue. A venue you have never used is flagged to you.
3. 03
### Check the dates against each other
Start must come before end in the venue's time zone, an overnight club night ends on the next day, and the on-sale date may not precede the announce date. Another draft or approved event at the same venue that night stops the run.
4. 04
### Save the draft, clean the copy
Before create\_event, the agent strips URLs, email addresses and phone numbers from the description and lists what it removed. The draft stays invisible to fans.
5. 05
### Add tickets in the order fans see them
add\_ticket\_type runs once per ticket type, cheapest first, with prices in minor units of the event currency. A door price or a free ticket is added only when the brief asks for it, and each call waits for your OK.
6. 06
### Hand back, do not submit
The agent returns the draft with a checklist of what it set. Sending it to DICE for review is a separate request, so a half-finished draft never reaches the review queue.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Draft saved: Club Night, Sat 14 Nov 2026, 22:00 to 04:00, The Warehouse (venue ID from your 3 past events there).
Line-up: DJ Orla, Kest. Age restriction: 18+.
Announce 15 Oct 10:00, on sale 16 Oct 10:00.
Ticket types: Early bird USD 15.00 x 100, General admission USD 20.00 x 250, door price USD 25.00.
Removed from the description: an Instagram link and a phone number.
Not submitted. Say "submit Club Night" to send it to DICE for review.
```

### Other ways to ask

- Copy last month's Rooftop Session into a new draft for 12 Dec with the same ticket types and prices.
- Create drafts for every Friday in January at The Warehouse from this line-up sheet; I will add the tickets later.
- Set up a free-entry draft for our album launch with one ticket type of 150 at price 0 and no door sales.

Before you automate it

## What DICE allows, and what to know first

- DICE's terms require the event information, including venue, performers, dates, times and any age restriction, to be complete in MIO before the event's announce date.
- DICE's terms forbid event information that references other websites, email addresses, contact information or phone numbers, other than the promoter's own website.
- DICE does not have to put tickets on sale until the promoter has set the face value of every ticket in MIO, along with any venue levy or additional fee.
- Under DICE's US self sign-up terms the 13% service fee comes on top of face value and is not shown separately to fans: the price fans see first is the price they pay.
- Only people over 18 may create events on DICE, and DICE may deactivate a MIO account after 12 months without activity.

add\_ticket\_type asks for your OK by default. To run it on a schedule without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can the agent add extras such as VIP upgrades to the draft?

No, Cotlet has no tool for extras. MIO lets you sell extras such as VIP passes, queue jumps or meet and greets with tickets, and DICE's user guidelines make you responsible for fulfilling them, so add those in MIO after the draft is saved.
