# Post recurring e-conomic bookkeeping vouchers

> Post fixed monthly e-conomic finance vouchers such as rent or subscriptions to a journal, with a check against what is already booked.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/e-conomic-api-mcp-server/post-recurring-vouchers

Rent, software and leasing repeat every month with the same accounts, and each one is typed into a journal again with the right contra account and VAT code.

Cotlet does it in your own e-conomic account with list\_journal\_entries and create\_finance\_voucher, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can e-conomic do this on its own?

e-conomic supports this through the REST API only (checked 14 Oct 2026). POST /journals/{journal}/vouchers creates vouchers and entries, bulk creation is supported, and a negative amount marks the credit side. There is no MCP server and no scheduling in the API.

## How you do it in e-conomic today

1. Vouchers are entered in a journal, each with an account, a contra account, an amount, a date and a text of up to 250 characters.
2. A VAT code and VAT amount are added when the account needs them.
3. The same entries are made every month, so a repeated voucher or a missed one is the usual mistake.

## How to post recurring e-conomic bookkeeping vouchers

Prompt

```
Post these monthly vouchers to journal 1 in e-conomic with the accounts, amounts and text I gave, and list the voucher numbers.
```

1. 01
### Look for last month's entry
The agent reads the journal entries filtered by the same text and amount, so a voucher already posted this month is skipped, not doubled.
2. 02
### Validate each line
Each line needs an account, a contra account, an amount and a date. A line with a missing account is listed for you, not guessed.
3. 03
### Post, one voucher per line
create\_finance\_voucher runs per line and returns the voucher number. Every call asks for your OK by default, because a voucher changes the books.
4. 04
### Report what was posted
The agent returns the voucher numbers with their accounts and amounts, and the lines it skipped as already posted.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Lines in the request: 3
Posted: 2 (voucher 2026-310 rent DKK 4,500.00, voucher 2026-311 software DKK 899.00)
Skipped: 1 (leasing, already posted on 2026-10-01)
```

### Other ways to ask

- Post the same three vouchers on the last day of every month, dated that day.
- Show me what I booked to account 7200 this year without posting anything.
- Post this list of 12 vouchers in one go and stop at the first account that does not exist.

## What e-conomic allows, and what to know first

- A finance voucher entry holds account, contra account, amount, VAT code and VAT amount, and its text is limited to 250 characters.
- POST /journals/{journal}/vouchers supports bulk creation and needs the accounting year and an amount and date for each entry.
- A negative amount marks the opposite side of the booking.
- Journal entries can be listed and filtered by entry type and voucher number.

create\_finance\_voucher asks for your OK by default. To run it weekly without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

## Call create\_finance\_voucher from a script

curl

```
curl -X POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/e-conomic/journals/1/finance-vouchers \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"accounting_year":"2026","date":"2026-10-31","account_number":7200,"contra_account_number":1920,"amount":4500,"text":"Office rent October"}'
```

Example response

```
{
"voucher_number": 312,
"accounting_year": "2026",
"journal_number": 1,
"account_number": 7200,
"contra_account_number": 1920,
"amount": 4500,
"date": "2026-10-31",
"text": "Office rent October"
}
```

MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is e\_conomic\_write → create\_finance\_voucher. Example data.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it safe to connect e-conomic to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to e-conomic yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get e-conomic once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.

## For AI agents: sign your user up

Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.

1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.

One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
