# Issue a Fakturownia invoice from a deal or message

> Turn a won deal or a client message into a saved Fakturownia VAT invoice: client lookup, products, due date. Your agent asks OK before saving.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/fakturownia-api-mcp-server/issue-invoice-from-deal

A client writes "yes, go ahead" in chat or email, and the invoice is still a form to fill: pick the buyer, add lines, set the due date, save.

Cotlet does it in your own Fakturownia (InvoiceOcean) account with list\_clients, create\_client, list\_products and create\_invoice, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Fakturownia (InvoiceOcean) do this on its own?

Fakturownia has a documented API that creates an invoice with POST /invoices.json (checked 14 Oct 2026). Its official MCP server is read-only, so an agent cannot save one. The gap is the token: you create it in Settings, paste it into whatever runs the job, and write the code that finds the client and the products.

## How you do it in Fakturownia (InvoiceOcean) today

1. Click the blue "+ Faktura" button on the home page, or go to "Przychody > Faktury" and click "Nowa faktura".
2. Choose the buyer by typing the first letters of the name, or add a new one; for a company, "Zaczytaj dane po NIP, REGON lub KRS" fetches the details.
3. Add each line with name, quantity, unit and unit price, or pick an existing product from the suggestions; Fakturownia calculates net and gross from the VAT rate.
4. Set "Płatność" and "Termin płatności", then click "Zapisz" and check the document.
5. What repeats: the buyer, the lines and the due date are entered again for every invoice.

## How to issue a Fakturownia invoice from a deal or message

Prompt

```
Issue a VAT invoice in Fakturownia for Blue Fern Studio: 2 x Website retainer from my product list, payment due in 14 days. Find the client first and add it if it is missing. Show me the invoice before you save it.
```

1. 01
### Find the buyer before creating one
The agent searches clients by NIP first, then by name, because Fakturownia keeps one record per buyer. A near match with a different spelling is shown to you instead of creating a duplicate.
2. 02
### Create the client only if missing
create\_client runs when the search finds nobody. A private person needs company set to false and a last name, so the agent asks for the surname instead of guessing.
3. 03
### Resolve lines against your product list
Each line is matched to a product with list\_products, so VAT rate and unit come from your own price list. A line with no match is reported, not invented.
4. 04
### Show the draft, then save
The agent states client, lines, net, VAT, gross and due date. create\_invoice then saves it as a VAT invoice, and by default it waits for your OK first.
5. 05
### Report the number and the next step
It returns the invoice number and link, and says whether KSeF sending is automatic on this account or still needs a send.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Issued VAT invoice 14/10/2026/1 for Blue Fern Studio
2 x Website retainer: net 1,000.00, VAT 230.00, gross 1,230.00 PLN
Due 2026-10-28
Status: issued, not sent
KSeF: not sent yet
```

### Other ways to ask

- Issue a proforma for Blue Fern Studio from this quote and do not send it.
- Every Friday, issue the monthly retainer invoice for each client on my retainer list and show me the totals first.
- Create invoices for these five rows of my spreadsheet and stop at the first client that is not in Fakturownia.

## What Fakturownia (InvoiceOcean) allows, and what to know first

- Fakturownia generates the invoice number itself when none is given, so the agent does not set one.
- Fakturownia needs only the client name to create a client; a private person is created by sending company false and a last name.
- With automatic KSeF sending on, an invoice saved by a user with send permission goes to KSeF on save, which makes the send legally binding.
- A line that is not subject to VAT needs one of the "np" tax values, for example "na", instead of a percentage.
- The department\_id says which company or department issues the invoice; without it Fakturownia uses your default company data.

create\_invoice asks for your OK by default. To run it daily without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

## Call create\_invoice from a script

curl

```
curl -X POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/fakturownia/clients/4817/invoices \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"kind":"vat","payment_to_kind":14,"positions":[{"product_id":2203,"quantity":2}]}'
```

Example response

```
{
"id": 5120,
"number": "14/10/2026/1",
"kind": "vat",
"status": "issued",
"client_id": 4817,
"price_net": "1000.00",
"price_tax": "230.00",
"price_gross": "1230.00",
"currency": "PLN",
"payment_to": "2026-10-28",
"gov_status": null
}
```

MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is fakturownia\_write → create\_invoice. Example data.
