# Send GlossGenius weekly sales totals to a spreadsheet

Your bookkeeper wants one row per week: services, retail, tips, tax, refunds and card fees. In GlossGenius that is a Sales Report PDF you pull on Monday and copy number by number into the sheet.

## Can GlossGenius do this on its own?

GlossGenius has no API for sales and says it offers no direct integration with accounting or reporting tools such as QuickBooks (checked 12 Oct 2026). Its Growth Analyst under Insights > Analytics builds custom reports you can download as CSV or Excel, but you ask for each one in a chat, and the Standard plan gets 5 queries in total.

## How you do it in GlossGenius today

1. In the GlossGenius web browser, click Insights > Reports from the left side menu; in the app, tap Features > Reports.
2. Choose Sales Report, pick the team member or all staff, and set a Custom date range for last Monday to Sunday.
3. Download the PDF from the web browser; the mobile app can only email the report to the address on your GlossGenius account.
4. Read the line items, from Gross Service Sales to Payment Processing Fees Paid By Business, and type each into the spreadsheet.
5. Do it again next Monday. One wrong date range in the GlossGenius report shifts every total in the sheet.

### Fix the period before reading  
The agent works in your business time zone and always takes the last full Monday to Sunday, so a run delayed to Tuesday still reports the same week and never a partial one.

### Read the totals once  
get\_sales\_summary for that week gives services, retail, total sales, gratuity, cash and check, taxes, refunds and card fees. If GlossGenius returns nothing because the account is paused or the login lacks View Reports, the agent stops and tells you instead of writing a row of zeros.

### Check the row before writing  
The agent checks that services plus retail add up to total sales and compares the week with the last row in your sheet. A total below half of the usual week is flagged in the message, since it often means appointments were not checked out yet.
4. 04  
### Write one row, never twice  
The row goes into your sheet with the week start date as its key. If that week already exists, for example after a manual rerun, the agent updates the row in place rather than adding a duplicate.

Before you automate it

## What GlossGenius allows, and what to know first

- The GlossGenius Sales Report counts a line item only when the appointment was fully checked out inside the date range, so an open checkout from Saturday lands in the week it is closed.
- Deposits collected before the report period for appointments checked out inside it appear in the GlossGenius Sales Report as Prepayment from Previous Sales; deposits for appointments not yet checked out sit under Prepayment from Future Sales.
- On a GlossGenius team account, a Sales Report for specific team members has to be run separately for each person; one report covers either all staff or one member.
- GlossGenius Retail Sales and Sales Tax reports have no totals; the help center points to the Sales Report for total retail sales and total sales tax.
- GlossGenius reports need the View Reports permission and are not accessible while the account is paused, cancelled or disabled.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I import the GlossGenius Sales Report into QuickBooks?

GlossGenius has no direct QuickBooks integration. Its help center suggests exporting reports and importing the files into software that accepts that format; the Sales Report itself is a PDF, while the Transaction Detail Report is a spreadsheet.
