# Weekly Google Discover performance report

> Pull Discover clicks, impressions and CTR from Search Console each week, with the best and worst day and the top pages. Runs weekly, no API setup.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/google-discover-api-mcp-server/weekly-google-discover-performance-report

Discover traffic jumps and drops without a keyword to explain it, so every Monday you open Search Console, switch to the Discover report and copy the numbers into a sheet.

Cotlet does it in your own Google Discover account with get\_discover\_performance and list\_top\_discover\_pages, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Google Discover do this on its own?

The official Search Analytics API covers this job (checked 20 Oct 2026): type=discover returns clicks, impressions and CTR for your own properties, by date, page, country and device. The gap is setup and scheduling, not data; Cotlet puts the same numbers behind one key and one MCP server next to the feed tools.

## How you do it in Google Discover today

1. In Search Console, pick the property and open the Discover performance report; it appears only for properties whose Discover data reached the minimum threshold of impressions.
2. Set the date range, then read clicks, impressions and CTR in the chart and the table.
3. Switch the table between pages, countries and devices to see where the clicks come from.
4. Copy the figures by hand into a sheet. Google keeps Discover data for the last 16 months, so a week you skip is easy to forget and hard to rebuild later.

## How to weekly Google Discover performance report

Prompt

```
Pull last week's Discover clicks, impressions and CTR for example-news.com by day, name the best and worst day and list the top 3 pages.
```

1. 01
### Read the week by day
Your agent calls get\_discover\_performance for the seven days with dimension date. Google skips days without data, so the agent counts the rows and says when fewer than seven came back instead of filling the gap with zeros.
2. 02
### Compare with the week before
A second call covers the previous seven days. The agent compares totals of clicks and impressions and recomputes CTR from the totals, rather than averaging the daily CTR values.
3. 03
### Name the extremes
The agent picks the day with the most and the fewest clicks and states both with the date. A day far from the others is flagged, with the caveat that Discover traffic is less predictable than keyword traffic.
4. 04
### List the pages behind the traffic
list\_top\_discover\_pages returns the pages with the most clicks. The agent keeps the top three and checks whether one page carries most of the week, which explains a spike better than the daily chart.
5. 05
### Split by country or device on request
If a day looks odd, the agent repeats the call with dimension country or device and reports which segment moved.

### What you get back

Example data

```
example-news.com, Discover, 12 to 18 Oct 2026:
Clicks 14,200, impressions 471,800, CTR 3.0%
Best day: 16 Oct, 2,450 clicks. Worst day: 17 Oct, 1,640 clicks.
Top pages: /guides/windowsill-herbs 3,920 clicks, /guides/sourdough-starter 2,610, /guides/composting-basics 1,890
```

### Other ways to ask

- Every Monday, post the Discover totals of all my properties as one table.
- Compare Discover clicks of the last 28 days with the 28 before, by country.
- Show me the pages whose CTR is below 2% with more than 50,000 impressions.

## What Google Discover allows, and what to know first

- The Search Analytics API supports type=discover since October 2021; byProperty aggregation is not supported for it.
- The Discover report counts traffic from Chrome and every surface where Discover appears.
- Data covers the last 16 months, and only content whose impressions reached a minimum threshold.
- When rows are grouped by date, Google returns them oldest first and skips days that have no data.

Every tool here only reads, so it can run weekly from n8n, Make, Zapier or cron without waiting for your OK.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it safe to connect Google Discover to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to Google Discover yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Google Discover once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.

## For AI agents: sign your user up

Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.

1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.

One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
