# Check off done Habitica dailies from your notes

> Tick the Habitica dailies you finished from a short note, leave the rest and report what is still due. Daily, from Claude Code, n8n or a script.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/habitica-api-mcp-server/check-off-done-dailies

You did most of the day's dailies away from the app. In the evening you still have to open Habitica and tick each one before your day ends, or the streak breaks and you lose health.

Cotlet does it in your own Habitica account with list\_tasks and score\_task, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Habitica do this on its own?

Habitica has no feature that ticks a Daily for you from what you wrote in another app (checked 17 Oct 2026). Its REST API can score a task, and the community Zapier setup scores through API calls. Both need a trigger you build and your token.

## How you do it in Habitica today

1. You open the Tasks page and the Dailies column.
2. The Due tab shows the dailies due today; you read down it.
3. You click the check box next to each Daily you finished.
4. You do this before midnight, or before your Custom Day Start if you changed it, because a due Daily left unticked costs health points and resets the streak.
5. The step that gets forgotten is the one late at night, when you are tired.

## How to check off done Habitica dailies from your notes

Prompt

```
Look at my Habitica dailies due today. From my notes below, tick the ones I did. List the ones I did not mention and leave them unticked.
```

1. 01
### Fetch what is due
list\_tasks runs with type daily and only the dailies due today are kept. A daily not due today is never touched.
2. 02
### Match your note
Each phrase in your note is matched to one due daily by title. A phrase that fits two dailies is asked about, not ticked.
3. 03
### Tick the matches
score\_task is called with direction up for each match. It writes only to your own account and you can untick in Habitica, so it does not ask for OK.
4. 04
### Skip the done
A daily already ticked is left alone, so running the job twice does not double anything.
5. 05
### Report what is left
The agent lists the dailies still due and unticked, so you know what to do before your day ends.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Due today: 6
Ticked 4:
- Stretch 10 minutes
- Review inbox
- Read 20 pages
- Practice guitar
Still due, not in your note 2:
- Water the plants
- Plan tomorrow
```

### Other ways to ask

- Tick all my dailies tagged "morning" and tell me which are left.
- At 22:00 list what is still due and do not tick anything.
- Tick "gym" only if my calendar shows a workout today.

## What Habitica allows, and what to know first

- A due Daily not checked off by midnight, or by your Custom Day Start, loses you health points and resets its streak to zero.
- Habitica tracks a streak as the number of days in a row you complete a Daily.
- Custom Day Start defaults to midnight in your time zone, and you can only move it later, not earlier.
- Dailies reset when cron runs, which starts when you next use Habitica after your day start.
- The 30 requests per minute limit counts all third-party tools for your account together.

score\_task changes only your own Habitica data and reach no one else, so it runs without asking first.

## Call score\_task from a script

curl

```
curl -X POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/habitica/tasks/b7c1f6a0-3d52-4e1a-9a7e-5d1c0f2e8a11/score \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"direction":"up"}'
```

Example response

```
{
"task_id": "b7c1f6a0-3d52-4e1a-9a7e-5d1c0f2e8a11",
"direction": "up",
"completed": true,
"streak": 13
}
```

MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is habitica\_write → score\_task. Example data.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it safe to connect Habitica to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to Habitica yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Habitica once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.

## For AI agents: sign your user up

Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.

1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.

One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
