# Set Hipcamp weekend and event prices for every site

> Hipcamp prices summer weekends and local events as special nights set by hand. Your agent sets Friday, Saturday and event prices site by site.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/hipcamp-api-mcp-server/update-nightly-prices

Spring is when you set the summer: higher Fridays and Saturdays, a premium for the local festival weekend, lower prices in the shoulder season. In Hipcamp each of those is a special price typed into Calendar > Bulk Edit, date selection by date selection and site by site.

Cotlet does it in your own Hipcamp account with list\_listings, get\_calendar, update\_pricing, block\_dates and unblock\_dates, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Hipcamp do this on its own?

Hipcamp has no public API for prices (checked 12 Oct 2026). Natively, Hipcamp offers special nightly prices through Bulk Edit, a Public Holiday price per site, a Weeknight discount and a Long-term Stay Discount, all set by hand. The gap: beyond the holiday list and flat percentage discounts, every season, weekend or local event price is a special price entered by hand.

By hand

## How you do it in Hipcamp today

1. Open Calendar, click Bulk Edit in the top-right corner, select the nights for one price and click Next; on the app, use Calendar > Manage instead.
2. Hipcamp lists every site with its price for the selected dates. Type the new amount in the Nightly price field of each site and click Done.
3. Repeat the selection for every weekend of the season. Hipcamp's 2026 setup guide points hosts to special prices for high and low seasons, so a summer of Friday and Saturday rates is entered weekend by weekend.
4. For national holidays, set a Public Holiday price instead: Property > Sites > pick a site > Pricing > Public Holiday price, as a percentage and minimum nights, site by site.
5. Local events are not on Hipcamp's holiday list, so festival, race or fair weekends go back to Bulk Edit. A missed weekend sells at the base price, and nobody notices until the booking is in.

With an agent

## How to set Hipcamp weekend and event prices for every site

Prompt

```
For July and August, set Friday and Saturday nights to $55 on Meadow and $62 on Creekside, keep weeknights at the base price, and set the county fair weekend (8 to 10 August) to $75 on both. Skip nights that are already booked and show me the plan first.
```

1. 01
### Map the sites and the season
The agent reads your listings and sites to match names like "Meadow" to their IDs, then pulls the calendar for the whole season per site so it knows which nights are booked, blocked or already on a special price.
2. 02
### Turn the rule into exact nights
Friday and Saturday in July and August become a list of dates per site. Event nights override the weekend price, and nights that already carry a special price you set by hand are reported, not overwritten, unless you say so.
3. 03
### Show the plan before writing
You get the nights, old price and new price per site in one message. Booked nights are left out because the camper's price does not change, and the agent says how many it skipped.
4. 04
### Write in weekly ranges, then verify
The agent sets prices with update\_pricing, filtered to fri and sat, one site at a time. A second calendar read confirms every target night now shows the new price, and a mismatch is listed for you instead of retried silently.
5. 05
### Open or close the edges of the season
If the rule also says when the season starts or ends, the agent opens those nights with unblock\_dates or closes them with block\_dates, so the price change and the opening date land together.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Willow Creek Farm, July and August
Meadow: 16 Friday and Saturday nights set to $55 (base $45), 3 skipped as booked
Creekside: 17 nights set to $62 (base $52), 2 skipped as booked
County fair 8 to 10 Aug: Meadow and Creekside set to $75
Left alone: Creekside 4 July, already a special price of $70 that you set by hand
Check: every changed night read back with the new price
```

### Other ways to ask

- Lower every weeknight in October and November to $35 on all sites, but leave weekends as they are.
- Close Meadow from 1 December to 31 March and open it again from 1 April at $45 on weeknights and $55 on weekends.
- Copy last summer's weekend prices to next summer, same weekdays, for every site.
- Every Monday, raise next weekend's price by $10 on any site that is still more than half empty.

Before you automate it

## What Hipcamp allows, and what to know first

- Hipcamp raises the additional-guest fee by the same percentage as a special night price over the base price: a $50 site with a $20 guest fee set to $75 charges $30 per extra guest that night.
- Hipcamp's Public Holiday price covers a fixed list of national and regional holidays per country and stretches over nearby nights, for example Friday through Monday when the holiday falls on a Monday.
- Holiday pricing in Hipcamp does not override a special night price, so a hand-set price on a holiday stays in force.
- Hipcamp's Weeknight discount is a percentage per site and does not apply on weeknights next to a holiday; it only lowers weeknights, so it cannot raise a fair or festival weekend above the base price.
- A Hipcamp Long-term Stay Discount applies to the special nightly rate, not the base price, so a $80 Friday inside a qualifying stay is discounted too.

update\_pricing, block\_dates and unblock\_dates change only your own Hipcamp data and reach no one else, so they run without asking first.

## Frequently asked questions

### Should I close Hipcamp dates for the winter or pause the property?

Hipcamp recommends blocking the Calendar rather than pausing: a blocked property stays in search and campers can still save it, while a paused property disappears from search results.
