# Log call notes on JobAdder candidate records

> Turn your call notes into notes on the right JobAdder candidate records, matched by name or email. Hosted, runs from your AI agent.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/jobadder-api-mcp-server/log-call-notes

After a day of screening calls, the notes sit in a notepad or a voice memo, and each one has to be found against the right candidate record in JobAdder.

Cotlet does it in your own JobAdder account with search\_candidates, get\_candidate and add\_candidate\_note, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can JobAdder do this on its own?

JobAdder lets you add a note from the candidate drawer, predictive search, a job's Database tab and the mobile app (checked 22 Oct 2026). Adding many notes from one list of call summaries has no bulk action, and from code it needs API access that JobAdder grants by approval.

## How you do it in JobAdder today

1. On a call, a recruiter keeps the candidate record open in its side drawer, reads the resume and adds a note in the drawer at the same time.
2. Anywhere else, predictive search finds the record, and hovering over it offers Add a Note, Send an Email or Send an SMS.
3. On the Database tab of a job, candidate actions include adding notes next to sending emails and SMS.
4. In the mobile app a new note screen opens after a call to a candidate, and the recruiter can dictate it with the mic button.
5. Notes typed later in a batch cost the most time: each one needs a search, the right record and a check that it is the right person.

## How to log call notes on JobAdder candidate records

Prompt

```
Here are my notes from today's candidate calls. Find each person in JobAdder, add a note to their record and tell me who I could not match.
```

1. 01
### Split your notes by person
The agent reads your pasted notes and separates one block per candidate, keeping the name, the email or phone if you wrote one, and what was said.
2. 02
### Find the right record
search\_candidates looks each person up by name, email or phone as you gave it. One match goes on. Two or more matches, or none, stop that person and go to your list, because a note on the wrong record is worse than a missing one.
3. 03
### Read before writing
get\_candidate brings the record and its recent notes, so the agent does not repeat something already logged and can tell a name match from a different person with the same name.
4. 04
### Add the note
add\_candidate\_note writes the note as plain text on the record. It is visible to your team in JobAdder and Cotlet has no tool to delete it, so each note waits for your OK until you switch that off for this tool.
5. 05
### Report what is left
The agent returns the candidates that got a note and the ones to handle by hand, with the reason for each.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Notes pasted: 6 candidates
Note added 4:
- Priya Nair: "Available from 1 December, wants hybrid, salary 85k"
- Daniel Moore: "Two-month notice, interested in the team lead role"
Not matched 2:
- "Sam" (no surname, 3 candidates match)
- Marta Kowal (no record found)
```

### Other ways to ask

- Add this email thread as a note on the candidate it is about.
- Every evening, read my notes file and log each call on the right candidate.
- Draft the notes, show me the match for each person, and add nothing until I say so.

## What JobAdder allows, and what to know first

- JobAdder users can tag other users with @ mentions while writing a note, which is a feature of its own editor; a note added through Cotlet is plain text.
- JobAdder's Gmail and Outlook sync links a note added against both a candidate and a job, so notes from your inbox and notes from the agent can sit on the same record.
- The JobAdder Chrome extension also saves notes along with a candidate's name and contact details, so a candidate from a web page may already exist when the agent searches.
- Predictive search in JobAdder shows Add a Note on hover, which is the same note the agent writes, on the same record.

add\_candidate\_note asks for your OK by default. To run it daily without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

## Call add\_candidate\_note from a script

curl

```
curl -X POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/jobadder/candidates/cand_20931/note \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"text":"Screening call 21 Oct. Available from 1 December, wants hybrid, salary expectation 85k."}'
```

Example response

```
{
"note_id": "note_77412",
"candidate_id": "cand_20931",
"created_at": "2026-10-22T17:05:00+11:00"
}
```

MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is jobadder\_write → add\_candidate\_note. Example data.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it safe to connect JobAdder to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to JobAdder yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get JobAdder once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.

## For AI agents: sign your user up

Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.

1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.

One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
