# Kiwi.com API and MCP server

> Kiwi.com has no public API for managing your own bookings (checked 11 Oct 2026). Its official MCP server has one tool, search-flight, which returns flights with a booking link for each and does not manage trips, and new Tequila API partnerships have been by invitation only since May 2024.

Online travel agency that books flights, including itineraries that combine separate tickets across carriers, with a Manage My Booking area for bags, seats, check-in, invoices and cancellations.

## What is the Kiwi.com API?

Cotlet's Kiwi.com API exposes 13 endpoints for your own Kiwi.com account: search flights, list trips, get trip, get boarding passes, get baggage options, get seat map, get cancellation options, get invoice, get Credit balance, add travel documents, add baggage, select seat and cancel trip. The search_flights endpoint returns flights between two places for set dates, with price, duration and a booking link. Each endpoint takes simple JSON inputs like trip_id, flight_id or passenger_id and works both as an MCP tool for agents and as a REST call for scripts.

REST base    https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/kiwi-com
Auth Authorization: Bearer <COTLET_API_KEY>. Listing endpoints and schemas needs no key; calling an endpoint needs one.
Tools        search_flights, list_trips, get_trip, get_boarding_passes, get_baggage_options, get_seat_map, get_cancellation_options, get_invoice, get_credit_balance, add_travel_documents, add_baggage, select_seat, cancel_trip

How access works:
1. The user requests access at https://cotlet.dev/app/signup?app=kiwi-com (Kiwi.com is pre-selected). Each request is reviewed and the API key is sent by email.
2. The user signs in to Kiwi.com once in a browser. An agent cannot do this step.
3. The API key goes into the MCP client or the REST call as a bearer token.

Fits: people who want a hosted Kiwi.com server that someone else maintains, including non-developers.

Policy: Cotlet never stores passwords, never solves CAPTCHAs, never bypasses MFA.
Company: legal details in the Terms of service at https://cotlet.dev/terms. Contact contact@cotlet.dev.
Session: the user signs in to Kiwi.com in a browser; Cotlet keeps only the session, AES-256 encrypted, revocable in the dashboard at any time.
Terms: the user stays responsible for following Kiwi.com's terms; Cotlet is not affiliated with Kiwi.com.
```
## What can an AI agent do in Kiwi.com?
Cotlet is best for frequent travelers and travel admins who want their AI agent to handle documents, bags, boarding passes, invoices and cancellations on Kiwi.com without running or fixing a server.
- **[Online check-in and boarding passes](https://cotlet.dev/integrations/kiwi-com-api-mcp-server/online-check-in-and-boarding-passes)** (runs: daily): "Every morning, check my upcoming Kiwi.com trips. Add my saved passport details to any trip that still asks for them, and save the boarding passes to ~/Travel once they arrive." → `list_trips`, `get_trip`, `add_travel_documents`, `get_boarding_passes`
- **Get your boarding passes**: "Get my boarding passes for tomorrow and save them to ~/Travel." → `list_trips`, `get_boarding_passes`
- **[Add a checked bag to a booked trip](https://cotlet.dev/integrations/kiwi-com-api-mcp-server/add-baggage-to-a-booking)**: "Add one 20 kg checked bag for me to my Barcelona trip. Show me the price first, and stop if the trip is a self-transfer that does not allow checked bags." → `list_trips`, `get_trip`, `get_baggage_options`, `add_baggage`
- **Download Kiwi.com invoices for expenses**: "Download the invoices for all my trips this year for my accountant." → `list_trips`, `get_invoice`
- **[Cancel a trip and see the refund first](https://cotlet.dev/integrations/kiwi-com-api-mcp-server/cancel-a-trip-for-a-refund)**: "Show me what I get back if I cancel my Berlin trip, as Kiwi.com Credit and as money. Cancel it only if the money refund is at least half of what I paid." → `list_trips`, `get_cancellation_options`, `cancel_trip`, `get_credit_balance`
## Can Kiwi.com automations run on a schedule in n8n, Make or Zapier?
Yes. Cotlet does not replace your automation platform: it gives it a Kiwi.com connection it does not have, with the same API key as your agent. Write actions ask for your OK by default; switch that off in your dashboard for the tools you choose, for example to online check-in and boarding passes, and the schedule runs on its own. Cotlet runs in the cloud, so it keeps going while your computer is off.
| Where | How to connect | How to schedule |
|---|---|---|
| Your AI agent | Add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with your API key. | A scheduled agent run, for example a Claude Code routine. |
| n8n | MCP Client node with https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1, or an HTTP Request node to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/kiwi-com/{tool}. | Schedule Trigger node. |
| Make | HTTP module: POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/kiwi-com/{tool} with an Authorization: Bearer header and a JSON body. | Scenario schedule. |
| Zapier | Webhooks by Zapier: POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/kiwi-com/{tool} with the same header and body. | Schedule by Zapier trigger. |
| Your own script | POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/kiwi-com/{tool} with your API key. | cron or GitHub Actions. |
## Tools
**For AI agents:** Every endpoint and its schema is public. The 13 endpoints on this page, with parameters and example responses, can be listed without an account. Calling one returns 403 until the account has an API key with access to Kiwi.com.
### search_flights
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
Searches Kiwi.com flights for one-way or round trips and returns the flights Kiwi.com finds, each with a link to book on Kiwi.com. Date flexibility goes up to 3 days either side. It does not need your trips, so it works before you book anything.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `trip_id` | string | yes | Booking number from list_trips. |
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `trip_id` | string | yes | Booking number from list_trips. |
Returns one download link per passenger and flight once Kiwi.com has checked you in. Before that the list is empty and check_in says what is pending. If you checked in with the airline yourself, the airline sent the pass and Kiwi.com has none.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `trip_id` | string | yes | Booking number from list_trips. |
Returns the bag options Kiwi.com offers for the itinerary, each with its price and the passenger it is for. Options are sold for the whole itinerary. The list is empty when Kiwi.com no longer sells bags for the trip, which is the case from 36 hours before departure, and for self-transfer itineraries with short layovers.
Example response:
```json

Example response:

```json
{
  "trip_id": "512834907",
  "flight_id": "f1",
  "seats": [
    {
      "seat": "14C",
      "amount": 98,
      "currency": "EUR"
    }
  ]
}
```

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `trip_id` | string | yes | Booking number from list_trips. |

Example response:

```json
{
  "balance": {
    "amount": 112.5,
    "currency": "EUR"
  },
  "parts": [
    {
      "expires_on": "2028-09-18"
    }
  ]
}
```

Add the passport or ID details Kiwi.com needs to check a passenger in. Access: write, asks the user first. REST: `POST /api/v1/kiwi-com/add_travel_documents`.

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `trip_id` | string | yes | Booking number from list_trips. |
| `passenger_id` | string | yes | Passenger ID from get_trip. |
| `details` | object | yes | The fields listed in documents_needed by get_trip, e.g. document_number and expiry_date. |

Saves the travel document details for one passenger, which Kiwi.com passes to the airline for check-in. It accepts them up to 24 hours before departure; later you check in with the airline. Send the fields get_trip lists under documents_needed. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool.

Example response:

```json
{
  "trip_id": "512834907",
  "passenger_id": "p1",
  "status": "saved",
  "check_in": "waiting for the airline to open"
```

### add_baggage

Buy a bag from get_baggage_options for the price shown there. Access: write, asks the user first. REST: `POST /api/v1/kiwi-com/add_baggage`.

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `trip_id` | string | yes | Booking number from list_trips. |
| `bag_option_id` | string | yes | Option ID from get_baggage_options. |

Adds one bag option to the booking and charges the price from get_baggage_options. The bag cannot be removed or moved to another passenger afterwards, and Kiwi.com may add a processing fee depending on your service package. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool.

Example response:

```json
{
  "trip_id": "512834907",
  "status": "added",
  "bag": {
    "bag_option_id": "bo_chk20_p1",
    "description": "Checked bag, 20 kg",
    "passenger_id": "p1"
  },
  "price": {
    "amount": 64,
    "currency": "EUR"
  }
}
```

### select_seat

Pick a seat for a passenger on one flight, where the airline offers it. Access: write, asks the user first. REST: `POST /api/v1/kiwi-com/select_seat`.

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |

| `trip_id` | string | yes | Booking number from list_trips. |
| `flight_id` | string | yes | Flight ID from get_trip. |
| `passenger_id` | string | yes | Passenger ID from get_trip. |
| `seat` | string | yes | Seat from get_seat_map, e.g. 14C. |

Reserves one seat from get_seat_map for one passenger on one flight, up to 48 hours before departure. The seat then shows on the e-ticket and in the trip. A seat with a price charges your payment method. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool.

Example response:

```json
{
  "trip_id": "512834907",
  "flight_id": "f1",
  "passenger_id": "p1",
  "seat": "14C",
  "status": "reserved",
  "price": {
    "amount": 9,
    "currency": "EUR"
  }
}
```

Cancel a trip and request the refund you picked from get_cancellation_options. Access: write, asks the user first. REST: `POST /api/v1/kiwi-com/cancel_trip`.

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `trip_id` | string | yes | Booking number from list_trips. |
| `refund_option_id` | string | yes | Option ID from get_cancellation_options. |
| `flight_ids` | string[] | no | Cancel only these flights (Saver and Standard tickets). Default: whole trip. |

Sends the cancellation request to Kiwi.com, which handles it under the airline rules for your ticket type. Pass refund_option_id from get_cancellation_options. On Saver and Standard tickets you can name single flights in flight_ids; on Flexi tickets the whole booking is cancelled. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool.

Example response:

```json
{
  "trip_id": "734120655",
  "status": "cancellation requested",
  "refund": {
    "refund_option_id": "rf_credit",
    "refund_as": "Kiwi.com Credit",
    "amount": 112.5,
    "currency": "EUR"
  }
}
```

## How do I connect Kiwi.com to Claude Code, Codex or Cursor?

Connecting Kiwi.com takes three steps: request access, sign in to Kiwi.com once, then add one MCP server or call the REST API with the same key.

### Connect Kiwi.com to your agent.

1. **Create an account** Sign up and add Kiwi.com in the console. Your API key is there too.

2. **Sign in to Kiwi.com once** Open the connect page from the console and sign in to Kiwi.com the way you always do. We keep the session, never your password, and you can revoke it anytime.

3. **Add Cotlet to your agent** Paste the snippet for your client. The same server and key serve every app you connect, so you do this once.

   Claude Code:

```
claude mcp add --transport http cotlet \
  https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY"
```

   Cursor:

```
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "cotlet": {
      "url": "https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer ${COTLET_API_KEY}"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

   Codex:

```
# ~/.codex/config.toml
[mcp_servers.cotlet]
url = "https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1"
bearer_token_env_var = "COTLET_API_KEY"
```

4. **Ask your agent** Ask in plain words. Your agent finds the Kiwi.com tools on the server and calls them for you; anything that reaches other people waits for your OK unless you switch that off for a tool.

```
Every morning, check my upcoming Kiwi.com trips. Add my saved passport details to any trip that still asks for them, and save the boarding passes to ~/Travel once they arrive.
```

### Call Kiwi.com from your scripts.

1. **Export your API key** Your scripts use the same API key as your agent. Keep it in an environment variable, never in your code.

```
export COTLET_API_KEY="cotlet_..."
```

2. **Call a tool** Every tool is a POST endpoint at /api/v1/kiwi-com/{tool}. Send its parameters as JSON, exactly as listed in the endpoints above.

```
curl https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/kiwi-com/add_baggage \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"trip_id":"512834907","bag_option_id":"bo_chk20_p1"}'
```

3. **Read the result** You get plain JSON back, ready for your script. A failed call costs nothing.

```
{
  "trip_id": "512834907",
  "status": "added",
  "bag": {
    "bag_option_id": "bo_chk20_p1",
    "description": "Checked bag, 20 kg",
    "passenger_id": "p1"
  },
  "price": {
    "amount": 64,
    "currency": "EUR"
  }
}
```

## Is there a Kiwi.com MCP server on GitHub?

Kiwi.com's own MCP server searches flights and hands you a booking link; it does not sign in to your account, so it cannot see or change your trips. Cotlet signs in as you and covers the trip side, and its search_flights tool covers the same search.

|  | Official Kiwi.com MCP | Cotlet |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Add the server URL to your MCP client | Request access, sign in to Kiwi.com once in your browser, add one MCP server or API key |
| What it covers | Flight search, each result with a booking link | Search plus your trips: documents, boarding passes, bags, seats, invoices, cancellations |
| Your bookings | No access | List and open the trips on your account |
| Your session | None, no account is connected | Encrypted in an EU vault, limited to the actions you allow, revoked in one click |
| When Kiwi.com changes | Maintained by Kiwi.com | Our team tests it daily and fixes it for you; failed calls are free |
| Where it runs | Hosted by Kiwi.com, for MCP clients | Hosted: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, n8n and scripts, also on a schedule |
| Price | No price on its page | Free 7-day trial with 5,000 credits, then credits per call |

### Which one fits you

**Pick Cotlet if**

- you are not a developer, or you do not want to maintain a server
- you need it to keep working when Kiwi.com changes, without checking it yourself
- your agent or a script should run it on a schedule, also while your computer is off

**Pick an open-source server if**

- you are comfortable installing, updating and fixing it yourself
- you want the session to stay on your own computer
- you only need it now and then, from one MCP client

## How much does the Kiwi.com API cost?

Free 7-day trial with 5,000 credits, no card needed. After that, the Kiwi.com API comes with the Cotlet plan, from $29 a month for 3,000 credits, with no limit on apps. Each month's credits stay valid for 3 months, so unused credits add up.

| Size | Price | Credits / month | Per credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo | $29/mo | 3,000 | about $0.0097 |
| Pro | $99/mo | 12,000 | about $0.0083 |
| Agency | $299/mo | 40,000 | $0.0075 |

Each successful call uses credits for the work it takes; failed calls and timeouts cost nothing. A hard spend cap is on by default. Authenticate with the `Authorization: Bearer` header. [See full pricing](https://cotlet.dev/pricing)

## How Cotlet holds your access

Cotlet hosts MCP servers and REST APIs for apps with no usable API. Your agent works in your own Kiwi.com account.

- **Company details:** The legal name, address and registration numbers of the company behind Cotlet are in the Terms of service. [Terms](https://cotlet.dev/terms)
- **Your session:** You sign in to Kiwi.com yourself, in your browser. We keep only the session, never your password: encrypted with AES-256 in an EU vault, isolated to your account and used only when your agent calls a Kiwi.com tool you allowed. When it expires, your agent gives you a link to sign in again. [Security](https://cotlet.dev/security)
- **Revoking access:** Disconnect Kiwi.com in your dashboard: the session is deleted and access ends at once. Actions that reach other people wait for your OK unless you switch that off per tool.
- **What we never do:** Store passwords, solve CAPTCHAs or bypass MFA.
- **Kiwi.com's terms:** You use your own Kiwi.com account and stay responsible for following Kiwi.com's terms. Cotlet is independent and not affiliated with Kiwi.com. [Terms](https://cotlet.dev/terms)

## Frequently asked questions

**How do I get access?**

Request access and pick Kiwi.com. Cotlet reviews each request and emails you your API key.

**Do I need to be technical?**

No. You sign in to Kiwi.com once in your browser and paste one command into your agent, or one URL into n8n. Your agent can walk you through it. There is no server to install, update or fix.

**Is a hosted server safe? My Kiwi.com session would leave my computer.**

Cotlet keeps your Kiwi.com session encrypted with AES-256 in an EU vault, isolated to your account and used only for the tools you allow: read only, or read and write. The AI model never sees it, and you revoke it in one click. A local server keeps the same session in a file on your computer, readable by any program you run, and needs a fresh sign-in whenever it expires.

**Is booking a new flight possible?**

search_flights finds flights and returns a Kiwi.com booking link for each, like the official MCP server does (checked 11 Oct 2026). You complete the booking and payment on Kiwi.com; Cotlet covers the trips already on your account.

**Which Kiwi.com account does it use?**

The account that holds your bookings, signed in once in your browser. Cotlet keeps only the session, never your password, and reconnect asks you again if Kiwi.com signs you out.

**Can my agent post or send messages in Kiwi.com without asking me?**

No. Every call to add_travel_documents, add_baggage, select_seat or cancel_trip waits for your OK by default. For scheduled automations you can switch confirmation off per tool in your dashboard, for example only for approvals.

**Can I use the Kiwi.com API in n8n?**

Yes. Add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with your API key in n8n's MCP Client node, or call https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/kiwi-com/{tool} from the HTTP Request node.
