# Answer Okendo product questions with AI

> Answer shopper questions waiting in Okendo Q&A from your product notes, publish the answer or send it privately, and list what needs a person.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/okendo-api-mcp-server/answer-product-questions

Shoppers ask questions on product pages, and every unanswered one sits in the Q&A queue while the person asking decides whether to buy.

Cotlet does it in your own Okendo account with list\_questions and answer\_question, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Okendo do this on its own?

Okendo has manual Q&A moderation only (checked 23 Oct 2026). Its official MCP server lists published and approved questions with their answers, and the Merchant API docs list no endpoint for questions. Nothing in Okendo answers a question from your product notes.

## How you do it in Okendo today

1. The Q&A widget must be installed on your store, or shoppers cannot submit questions at all.
2. In the Okendo admin, open Reviews > Questions > Moderation and set the status filter to Pending, optionally narrowed by the product filter.
3. Each question shows the product name, who asked with name and email, and the question text, with an Add Answer button.
4. Click Add Answer, write the answer and decide whether to tick Visible to shoppers.
5. With the box ticked the button reads Publish Question and Notify, and with it unticked Save and Notify; both email the asker.

## How to answer Okendo product questions with AI

Prompt

```
List the pending questions in Okendo. Answer the ones my product notes cover and publish them, and list the others for me.
```

1. 01
### Read the pending questions
list\_questions with status pending returns each question with its product and the asker. The agent follows the cursor until the list is empty and groups questions by product.
2. 02
### Check them against your notes
The agent answers only from what you put in the prompt or attach, for example sizing, materials, shipping times or care instructions. A question your notes do not cover is listed for you, never guessed.
3. 03
### Decide public or private
A general question about the product is answered with visible\_to\_shoppers on, so it helps the next shopper. A question about one order or one person is answered with the box off, which still emails the asker and keeps it off the page.
4. 04
### Send the answer
answer\_question saves the answer and emails the asker, and with the box on it also publishes the question and answer on your storefront. Both reach a shopper, so each call waits for your OK until you switch confirmation off.
5. 05
### Leave out spam
Questions that are ads or off-topic stay pending for you to reject, because answering one would publish it with your answer next to it.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Pending questions: 7
Answered and published 4, e.g. "Is the tote machine washable?": cold wash, air dry
Answered privately 1 (about an order)
Left for you 2:
- "Do you ship to Norway?" (not in your notes)
- "Check out my store" (looks like spam)
```

### Other ways to ask

- Only answer questions about sizing, and list every other pending question.
- Every Friday, list questions that stayed unanswered for more than 3 days.
- Draft answers in this chat and send nothing until I approve them.

## What Okendo allows, and what to know first

- The Q&A widget has to be installed on your store before shoppers can submit questions.
- Only the person who asked is emailed, whether or not the answer is public.
- Questions have their own Pending, Published and Rejected statuses under Reviews > Questions > Moderation.
- The moderation screen filters by status and by one or more products.

answer\_question asks for your OK by default. To run it daily without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

## Call answer\_question from a script

curl

```
curl -X POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/okendo/questions/qst_31b8/replies \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"answer":"Yes. Wash it cold on a gentle cycle and air dry it; do not tumble dry.","visible_to_shoppers":true}'
```

Example response

```
{
"question_id": "qst_31b8",
"status": "published",
"visible_to_shoppers": true,
"asker_notified": true
}
```

MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is okendo\_write → answer\_question. Example data.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it safe to connect Okendo to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to Okendo yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Okendo once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.
