# Create and share a Pixieset client gallery

> Edited photos in a Dropbox or lab link? An agent builds the Pixieset collection, checks every upload and sends the invite after your OK.

Your editor or second shooter hands back the finished files as download links, and you still pull them to your computer, drag them into a new Pixieset collection and write the invite. Pixieset's bulk tools start from desktop folders, so a one-off delivery stays manual.

Cotlet does it in your own Pixieset account with list\_collections, create\_collection, upload\_photos, get\_collection and share\_collection, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Pixieset do this on its own?

Pixieset has no API for creating or sharing galleries (checked 12 Oct 2026). The Lightroom plugin publishes collections from Lightroom Classic, but they arrive in Preview mode and are published and shared from the dashboard. Bulk Create builds collections from desktop folders or a CSV of names, and bulk sharing from a folder needs a Pro or Ultimate Client Gallery plan or Suite. None of these takes photos from a link or sends the invite from a script.

By hand

## How you do it in Pixieset today

1. In the Pixieset Client Gallery dashboard, open Collections, click New Collection, enter the name, optionally pick an event date or a watermark, and click Create Collection.
2. Drag the edited files into the collection uploader or choose Browse files; Pixieset counts every upload toward the storage of your plan.
3. Check Settings > Download for the 4-digit download PIN Pixieset puts on each new collection, and Settings > General for an Auto Expiry date.
4. Click Share, enter the client's email or pick a contact, choose an email template, tick the password or download PIN under Include collection info, and click Send.
5. Open More > View email history later to confirm the invite shows Sent and not Soft-bounce or Hard Bounce. Every delivery repeats the download, the upload and the invite by hand, and a gallery shared halfway through an upload is an easy mistake.

With an agent

## How to create and share a Pixieset client gallery

Prompt

```
Create a gallery called Smith Wedding dated 4 Oct 2026, upload the photos from the links in links.csv, check that every file made it, then email the invite to anna@example.com.
```

1. 01
### Look for an existing gallery first
The agent searches list\_collections for the client's name. If a collection with that name already exists, it stops and asks whether to add the photos there or start a second one, so a rerun never leaves two galleries for the same wedding.
2. 02
### Create, then load the files
create\_collection gets the name and the shoot date from your prompt. upload\_photos receives the links in batches, and the agent compares the number of photos added with the number of links you gave.
3. 03
### Hold the invite on any failed file
A link that fails, such as an expired Dropbox share or a private folder, is tried once more. If it fails again, the agent lists the file names and does not share, because the client would open an incomplete gallery.
4. 04
### Check protection before writing the note
get\_collection tells the agent whether a password or a download PIN is on, never the codes themselves. When a PIN is set, the agent reminds you to put it in the note, since Pixieset's Include collection info box is not part of this call.
5. 05
### Send after your OK
You see the recipients and the note before the email goes out. The agent reports the gallery URL and the send time, so you can paste the link into a text message as well.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Smith Wedding (event date 4 Oct 2026) created as col_5544.
Uploaded 412 of 414 photos. DSC_0912.jpg and DSC_0915.jpg failed twice: the folder link expired.
Invite held until the two files are fixed.
Download PIN is on: add it to the note or send it yourself.
After new links for the two files: 414 photos, invite sent to anna@example.com at 10:15 with your OK.
Gallery: https://studioexample.pixieset.com/smithwedding/
```

### Other ways to ask

- Create galleries for the six families in minis.csv, upload each family's photos from its folder link and share each gallery with that family's email.
- Create the Patel Engagement gallery and upload the photos, but do not send anything; I want to review it first.
- Add the 40 reception photos from this link to the existing Smith Wedding gallery and tell Anna the rest of her photos are in.

Before you automate it

## What Pixieset allows, and what to know first

- Pixieset gives every new collection a 4-digit download PIN by default, covering photo and video downloads, until you turn it off under Settings > Download.
- Pixieset bulk sharing from a folder is available on Pro and Ultimate Client Gallery plans and on Suite, and it skips any collection without a recipient.
- Pixieset counts every upload toward the storage of your plan, and photos you want to sell as prints in the Store must be JPEG files.
- When a Pixieset collection has an Auto Expiry date, the Share screen only lets you schedule the invite for a date before the collection expires.

share\_collection asks for your OK by default. To run it on a schedule without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can the agent schedule the invite for a later date?

No. share\_collection sends right away. Pixieset's own Share screen has a dropdown next to Send for scheduling, limited to dates before any Auto Expiry date; with Cotlet you run the job at the time you want instead.

### Does the client see the gallery before the invite goes out?

Not from Cotlet. The collection sits in your account until share\_collection runs, unless you send the gallery link some other way.
