# Export Pixieset client favorites and notes for editing

> Merge the Pixieset favorite lists of a gallery into one Lightroom or Capture One filename list, with client editing notes on top.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/pixieset-api-mcp-server/export-client-favorites

A couple each builds a favorite list, the parents start a third, and the editing notes sit beside single photos in Favorite Activity. Before you open Lightroom you want one clean list of what to edit and what each note asks for.

Cotlet does it in your own Pixieset account with list\_collections and list\_favorites, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Pixieset do this on its own?

Pixieset has no API or webhook for favorites (checked 12 Oct 2026). Favorite Activity offers a CSV export with notes and a Lightroom Copy List for each favorite list, and clients can tell you from the gallery when a list is finished. Each export covers one list in one collection, so combining lists or checking many galleries at once is still manual.

By hand

## How you do it in Pixieset today

1. Open the collection in the Client Gallery dashboard and go to Activities > Favorite Activity, where Pixieset groups the favorite lists by the email address that created them.
2. Click into each favorite list to read the notes clients left beside single photos, or export the CSV of filenames, which carries the notes too.
3. Click ••• next to the list, choose Lightroom Copy List, add a file extension under Include File extension if needed, use the Include Commas toggle, and click Copy.
4. In Lightroom Classic, open Library > Find, choose Any Searchable Field and Contains, and paste the list into the search box.
5. Do it again for every list and every gallery. A photo picked in two lists, or a note that sits in only one of them, is easy to lose when the lists are handled one at a time.

With an agent

## How to export Pixieset client favorites and notes for editing

Prompt

```
Merge all favorite lists in the Lee Family Session gallery into one Lightroom filename list and put the photos with editing notes first.
```

1. 01
### Find the right gallery
list\_collections with the family or couple name returns the collection ID. With two matches, say an engagement session and the wedding, the agent asks which one rather than mixing selections from different shoots.
2. 02
### Merge the selections
The agent reads every favorited photo in the collection with list\_favorites and removes duplicates, so a photo both partners picked appears once in the edit list.
3. 03
### Put the notes on top
Photos with a note come first, each with the client's own words, because those change the retouching work. Notes about something other than editing, such as a print size, go to a separate line for you.
4. 04
### Write a list your software can paste
The agent writes the file names comma separated for Lightroom Classic and without commas for Capture One. Short names like IMG\_1 are flagged, because a Contains search also finds IMG\_101.
5. 05
### Name the galleries still waiting
When you ask about a batch of galleries, a collection with no favorites yet is listed by name, so you know which clients to nudge before your editing week.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Lee Family Session (col_5521): 38 favorited photos after removing duplicates.
6 have notes. IMG_2041: "Please brighten this one." IMG_2063: "Can you remove the sign behind us?" IMG_2110: "Also in black and white?"
Not about editing: IMG_2150 "Can we order this as a 16x20 print?"
Lightroom list: IMG_2041.jpg, IMG_2063.jpg, IMG_2077.jpg and 35 more.
Capture One list ready without commas.
```

### Other ways to ask

- Check every September mini session gallery and tell me which families have not favorited anything yet.
- Give me only the Lee favorites that have a note, with the note text, as a checklist for my retoucher.
- Every Friday, send me the merged filename list for each gallery I shot in the last 30 days, so my editor can start on Monday.

Before you automate it

## What Pixieset allows, and what to know first

- Pixieset favorites work on photos only; videos in a collection cannot be added to a favorite list.
- Pixieset clients can leave notes only when Favorite Notes is on under the collection's Settings > Favorite, and only on photos already in one of their lists.
- A Pixieset Preset Favorite List is set up for one client email address with a Maximum Selection, and the client cannot add more photos to that list once the limit is reached.
- Pixieset's Lightroom Copy List does not find Lightroom virtual copies, because Lightroom only gives them their own file names on export.
- Pixieset saves each favorite list under the email address the client entered, and Favorite Activity groups the lists by that address.

Every tool here only reads, so it can run on a schedule from n8n, Make, Zapier or cron without waiting for your OK.
