# Check due RemNote flashcards every morning

> Get a morning report of due RemNote flashcards by document, with your daily goal and streak, in Slack or email from n8n, Claude Code or a script.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/remnote-api-mcp-server/check-due-flashcards

Reviews pile up quietly, and you only learn how many are due after you open RemNote and look at the Flashcard Home.

Cotlet does it in your own RemNote account with get\_flashcard\_home and list\_documents, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can RemNote do this on its own?

RemNote shows due cards only inside the app (checked 17 Oct 2026). The official MCP help article says the agent cannot access the flashcard queue: no practicing, no scheduling and no list of what is due.

## How you do it in RemNote today

1. Click Flashcards in the left sidebar to open the Flashcard Home.
2. Read the Due Reviews overview and the Today's Goal box, then click the blue Practice button to start the global queue.
3. Scroll to the documents section: documents and folders are listed by priority, with upcoming exams on top when the Exam Scheduler is in use.
4. Open the Stats tab for the weekly history, time spent and answer breakdown.
5. Repeat daily. Nothing tells you from outside the app that the queue is growing.

## How to check due RemNote flashcards every morning

Prompt

```
Every morning, tell me how many RemNote flashcards are due today, which documents they are in, and whether I have reached my daily goal and streak goal.
```

1. 01
### Read the Flashcard Home
get\_flashcard\_home returns the due count, today's goal and the streak goal shown in the Today's Goal box, as read-only numbers.
2. 02
### Break it down by document
list\_documents returns documents and folders in the Flashcard Home order, by priority, each with its practice state, so the report says where the load is.
3. 03
### Flag what needs attention
The agent marks a streak at risk when the streak goal is not yet met, and names upcoming exams listed at the top of the documents section.
4. 04
### Never answer cards for you
No tool in this job grades or practices a card. Reviews stay yours, so spaced repetition scheduling is not changed by the agent.
5. 05
### Send the report
The agent writes the summary to wherever the schedule points it, for example a Slack message from n8n.

### What you get back

Example data

```
RemNote, Sat 17 Oct 2026
Due today: 86 cards
Daily goal: not reached. Streak goal: not reached
By document:
- Anatomy (high priority): 41
- Contract law: 27
- Spanish: 18
Upcoming exam: Anatomy midterm
```

### Other ways to ask

- Only message me when more than 100 cards are due.
- On Sunday evening, list the three documents with the most due cards for next week.
- Tell me which documents have an upcoming exam and how many cards each has due.

## What RemNote allows, and what to know first

- RemNote tracks a daily goal and a streak goal separately, and the streak goal is the one that keeps the streak alive on a light day.
- The Flashcard Home lists documents and folders sorted by priority, with upcoming exams at the top when the Exam Scheduler is in use.
- Pressing Shift+Ctrl+L (Shift+Cmd+L on a Mac) jumps straight into the global practice queue.
- Cards from imports and AI runs wait in their own queue and do not count as due until you start learning them.

Every tool here only reads, so it can run daily from n8n, Make, Zapier or cron without waiting for your OK.

## Call get\_flashcard\_home from a script

curl

```
curl https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/remnote/flashcard-home \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY"
```

Example response

```
{
"due_reviews": 86,
"daily_goal": {
"target": 100,
"done": 0,
"reached": false
},
"streak_goal": {
"target": 20,
"done": 0,
"reached": false
},
"streak_days": 12
}
```

MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is remnote\_read → get\_flashcard\_home. Example data.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it safe to connect RemNote to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to RemNote yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get RemNote once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.

## For AI agents: sign your user up

Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.

1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.

One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
