# Tag Ringover calls by outcome with AI

> Read yesterday's Ringover call transcripts and tag each call with your own outcome tags, instead of rushed after-call tagging. Runs daily.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/ringover-api-mcp-server/tag-calls-by-outcome

Reps hang up, the after-call window counts down, and the tag gets picked in a hurry or skipped. At the end of the week the tag report says little about how the calls really went.

Cotlet does it in your own Ringover account with list\_calls, get\_call\_transcript, list\_call\_tags and add\_call\_tag, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Ringover do this on its own?

Ringover lets users tag calls in the app, in the call logs and in the Conversations tab, but nothing tags by reading the call (checked 23 Oct 2026). The official MCP server has 36 read-only tools, so it can read a transcript but not add a tag. The Make app has a trigger for tag changes and no action to set one.

## How you do it in Ringover today

1. An admin turns on the Tag calls permission for each user and can switch on Tags required, which keeps the dialer open after a call until a tag is chosen. The free tagging feature has to be activated in the Marketplace first.
2. After a call, the after-call window opens with a countdown. The rep selects the call tag, types the notes and clicks End call.
3. A call that was missed or left untagged is fixed later: in the Dashboard, open Call logs, select the call, click Add a tag and choose a tag or a group of tags.
4. In the web app, the same fix is the tag icon on the call in the call logs. In the Conversations tab, it is the three dots next to the call, then Add tag.
5. To judge the outcome, the admin opens the call details, plays the recording or reads the Transcript tab, then tags it by hand.

## How to tag Ringover calls by outcome with AI

Prompt

```
Go through yesterday's answered Ringover calls longer than a minute. Read each transcript and tag it with one of my call tags: Demo booked, Price question, Support, or No fit. Leave a call untagged if none fits.
```

1. 01
### Collect the calls to judge
list\_calls runs with from and to set to yesterday and status answered. The agent drops calls under a minute by duration and skips calls that already carry a tag, which get\_call shows in its tags field. Pages come with a cursor; the agent follows it until the day is covered.
2. 02
### Load your tag list
list\_call\_tags returns the tags your team created, with their group. The agent only uses tags from this list. A name from your prompt that Ringover does not have is reported back, and the agent never creates tags of its own.
3. 03
### Read the conversation
get\_call\_transcript returns the text of each call. It works only for calls with a recording, and transcription must be enabled for the team; a call without a transcript is listed for you instead of guessed at.
4. 04
### Tag only clear outcomes
add\_call\_tag runs once per call when the transcript matches exactly one of your definitions, for example a date agreed for a demo for Demo booked. Mixed or unclear calls stay untagged with a one-line reason.
5. 05
### Report what changed
The agent lists the tags it set and the calls it left. A wrong tag is undone with remove\_call\_tag, so add\_call\_tag does not wait for your OK.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Answered calls over 1 minute yesterday: 23
Tagged 19:
- Demo booked 6 (e.g. call with Dana Whitfield: "Thursday at 10 works")
- Price question 7
- Support 4
- No fit 2
Left untagged 4:
- Call c_91e04a77: two topics, price and a refund
- Call c_91e04b02: no transcript, recording was off
```

### Other ways to ask

- Every Friday, tag all untagged answered calls of the week and send me the count per tag.
- Tag only calls from my sales team group and ignore support lines.
- Show which calls would get which tag, but do not change anything.
- Find answered calls last month where the caller asked about a price and tag them Price question.

## What Ringover allows, and what to know first

- Ringover needs the Tag calls permission on the user, and an admin can add Tags required so that a tag must follow each call.
- Ringover call tags are a free feature that an admin activates in the Marketplace before anyone can tag.
- Ringover shows the recording player, the Transcript tab and the AI call summary in the call details only if call recording is switched on for the user in Dashboard > Users.
- Ringover transcription must be enabled for the team, and the official MCP server reads only the data the API key has rights for.
- Ringover call logs export to CSV with Note, Tags and Notes columns, so tags set by the agent reach spreadsheets and BI tools.

add\_call\_tag changes only your own Ringover data and reach no one else, so it runs without asking first.

## Call add\_call\_tag from a script

curl

```
curl -X POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/ringover/calls/c_91e04a77/tag \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"tag":"Demo booked"}'
```

Example response

```
{
"call_id": "c_91e04a77",
"tags": [
"Demo booked"
]
}
```

MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is ringover\_write → add\_call\_tag. Example data.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it safe to connect Ringover to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to Ringover yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Ringover once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.
