# Build a SpyFu lead list for your agency

> Search SpyFu business leads by niche, location and contact type, then check ad budget and organic clicks to keep the best prospects for your agency.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/spyfu-api-mcp-server/find-agency-leads

An agency that did well for one golf course wants more of them, and SpyFu can list similar businesses by niche and place. Qualifying each domain is still a click per lead.

Cotlet does it in your own SpyFu account with search\_business\_leads and get\_domain\_overview, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can SpyFu do this on its own?

SpyFu offers business leads only in its web app (checked 23 Oct 2026). The developer reference lists no leads endpoint, and the official MCP endpoint publishes no tool list.

## How you do it in SpyFu today

1. Open Business Leads under the List Builder tab.
2. Type the niche keyword, for example "golf course", and use "other options" to exclude keywords you do not want.
3. Narrow the list by industry, location, contact type (email, phone or social account) and the technology the site uses.
4. Sort by the estimated monthly ad budget or the predicted SEO clicks, then export the leads to a CSV.
5. Open a domain you like in Research to see its SEO and PPC numbers before you decide who to contact.

## How to build a SpyFu lead list for your agency

Prompt

```
Find shoe retailers in Arizona that we can reach by email and phone, then check each one's SEO and ad numbers and keep the ones with an ad budget but few organic clicks.
```

1. 01
### Search with every filter
search\_business\_leads takes the niche keyword, excluded keywords, location and the contact types a lead must have. SpyFu applies the filters, so the agent does not read leads that fail your contact rule.
2. 02
### Check the money signals
Each lead comes with SpyFu's estimated monthly ad budget and predicted SEO clicks. The agent keeps leads that match your shape, for example an ad budget with few organic clicks, which suggests room for SEO work.
3. 03
### Look deeper at the shortlist
get\_domain\_overview runs per shortlisted domain, never per lead in the whole list, and adds keyword counts, domain strength and the top competitors SpyFu loads.
4. 04
### Leave the export to you
Contact details come only with SpyFu's export, which has a monthly cap per plan. The agent returns the shortlist and which contact types each lead has, and you export in SpyFu when you decide who to contact.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Leads for "shoe store" in Arizona with email and phone: 64
Shortlist after the ad budget and clicks rule: 9
- desertsole.example: ad budget 3,200, SEO clicks 410, email, phone, twitter
- cactus-kicks.example: ad budget 1,800, SEO clicks 150, email, phone
Export the 9 in SpyFu to get their contact details
```

### Other ways to ask

- Find restaurants in Phoenix that we can reach by phone and run no Google Ads.
- List sites that use a shopping cart platform in my niche, with the top competitor for each.
- Every Monday, run last week's search again and show me only the leads that are new.

## What SpyFu allows, and what to know first

- SpyFu leads can be filtered by keyword, industry, location, contact type and the technology a site uses.
- SpyFu has leads exports capped per month and says leads are one of the few things that are not unlimited. Its help center names 250 exports a month on the most basic plan, and twice that on the plan above it.
- Domain searches in SpyFu Research are unlimited, so checking a shortlist with get\_domain\_overview does not use the leads export cap.
- SpyFu shows an estimate of each lead's monthly ad budget and its predicted SEO clicks, so both are SpyFu's estimates, not the site's own numbers.

Every tool here only reads, so it can run on a schedule from n8n, Make, Zapier or cron without waiting for your OK.
