# Create TaxDome jobs for every client at once

> Create TaxDome jobs in a pipeline for all matching clients, with assignee, priority and due date, from Claude Code, n8n or a script. Hosted.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/taxdome-api-mcp-server/create-jobs-for-clients

Each season a job has to exist for every client before work starts, and creating them one by one means picking the pipeline, stage, assignee and date again and again.

Cotlet does it in your own TaxDome account with list\_accounts, list\_jobs and create\_job, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can TaxDome do this on its own?

TaxDome has no public API for jobs (checked 14 Oct 2026). Zapier handles contacts only, and TaxDome MCP is announced and not open to every firm yet. Bulk adding jobs is possible from the account list inside TaxDome.

## How you do it in TaxDome today

1. Open the pipeline and add a job manually: select the accounts, the stage, a template and the assignee.
2. Set the start and due date, which TaxDome treats as the date the job has to be finished, and a priority of Low, Medium, High or Urgent.
3. Or apply a job template, created under Templates > Firm templates, so tasks come with the job.
4. Check Workflow > Jobs, where all jobs sit in the In progress and Archived tabs.
5. Move jobs between stages by hand or with automations.

## How to create TaxDome jobs for every client at once

Prompt

```
For each company account tagged "annual", create a job in the Annual Filing pipeline at stage "Intake", assigned to Maria Silva, priority Medium, due 15 March, unless the account already has an open one.
```

1. 01
### Select the accounts
list\_accounts filters by type and search text. The agent keeps the accounts that match your rule and drops the ones you named as exceptions.
2. 02
### Look for an open job
list\_jobs runs per account in the target pipeline. An account that already has a job there is skipped and reported, so the same client never gets two filings.
3. 03
### Create with your defaults
create\_job sets the stage, assignee, priority and due date from your prompt, and a template when you give one. The job reaches no client, so it does not wait for your OK.
4. 04
### Fix what failed
If an assignee name matches nobody or a stage does not exist in the pipeline, the agent stops that account and lists the reason instead of picking a default.
5. 05
### Report the board
You get the number of jobs created per assignee and the accounts that were skipped.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Company accounts tagged "annual": 22
Jobs created: 19 in Annual Filing, stage Intake, due 15 Mar 2027, assignee Maria Silva
Skipped, open job exists: 3
No template found: 0
```

### Other ways to ask

- Create the same job for the accounts I list below, but assign them to Tom Becker with priority High.
- Use the "Individual 1040" template for individual accounts and the "Business return" template for company accounts.
- Archive jobs in Annual Filing that are past due and have no tasks left open.

## What TaxDome allows, and what to know first

- A TaxDome job lives in a pipeline and has stages, an assignee, a priority and a due date.
- Priority is Low, Medium, High or Urgent.
- Job templates are created by a firm owner, an admin or a team member with the Manage templates access right.
- TaxDome sees tasks as the steps you take to complete a job.
- Jobs can be moved between stages by hand or by automations.

create\_job changes only your own TaxDome data and reach no one else, so it runs without asking first.

## Call create\_job from a script

curl

```
curl -X POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/taxdome/accounts/acc_4f21/jobs \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"pipeline_id":"pl_annual","stage":"Intake","assignee":"Maria Silva","priority":"Medium","due_date":"2027-03-15"}'
```

Example response

```
{
"job_id": "job_3190",
"name": "Annual Filing 2026",
"account_id": "acc_4f21",
"pipeline": "Annual Filing",
"stage": "Intake",
"assignee": "Maria Silva",
"priority": "Medium",
"due_date": "2027-03-15"
}
```

MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is taxdome\_write → create\_job. Example data.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it safe to connect TaxDome to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to TaxDome yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get TaxDome once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.

## For AI agents: sign your user up

Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.

1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.

One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
