# Send TaxDome client invoices from one prompt

> Create and send TaxDome invoices to many clients from Claude Code, n8n or a script, and skip clients already billed. Hosted, nothing to maintain.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/taxdome-api-mcp-server/send-client-invoices

At month end the same invoice is created account by account, with the same line and a different amount, and one missed client means a month of late revenue.

Cotlet does it in your own TaxDome account with list\_accounts, list\_invoices and send\_invoice, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can TaxDome do this on its own?

TaxDome has no public API for invoices (checked 14 Oct 2026). Zapier covers contacts only, so no Zap can create an invoice. TaxDome MCP is announced and not open to every firm yet.

## How you do it in TaxDome today

1. Open New > Invoice, or open the client's Invoices tab and choose New invoice.
2. Enter an amount or pick an invoice template, then fill in the details.
3. Use Preview to see the PDF the client will receive.
4. Click Create, which both creates and sends the invoice.
5. To bill several clients at once, select them under Account > Clients and click Create Invoice.

## How to send TaxDome client invoices from one prompt

Prompt

```
Create and send the monthly bookkeeping invoice for each company account tagged "monthly": one line "Bookkeeping, October 2026" at the amount in my sheet, due in 14 days.
```

1. 01
### Find the clients to bill
list\_accounts returns the accounts that match your rule, such as a tag or a company type, and the agent matches each one to the amount in your sheet or prompt.
2. 02
### Check what was already billed
list\_invoices runs per account, and an invoice with the same description in the same month marks the client as already billed. The agent never sends twice for one period.
3. 03
### Hold anything odd
A missing amount, a zero amount or an amount more than double last month's is listed for you and not sent.
4. 04
### Create and send
send\_invoice creates the invoice and sends it, as the Create button does. Money is involved, so each call waits for your OK unless you turn confirmation off for it.
5. 05
### Hand back a billing list
You get each client, invoice ID and total, then the held and skipped clients with the reason.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Monthly accounts: 12
Invoices sent: 10, total $8,450.00
- Harbor Dental LLC: $1,200.00
- Pine & Co: $650.00
Skipped, already billed this month: 1
Held for you: 1 (Nguyen Family: no amount in the sheet)
```

### Other ways to ask

- On the 1st of each month, send last month's bookkeeping invoice to every account tagged "monthly".
- Create the invoices but do not send them, and list the totals for me to check first.
- Find accounts with no invoice in the last 30 days and tell me which ones to bill.

## What TaxDome allows, and what to know first

- In TaxDome, only the firm owner or a team member with the Manage invoices access right can create invoices.
- The Create button creates and sends the invoice in one step, so there is no separate send for a new invoice.
- Preview shows the PDF the client will receive.
- An invoice can start from an amount or from an invoice template.

send\_invoice asks for your OK by default. To run it weekly without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

## Call send\_invoice from a script

curl

```
curl -X POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/taxdome/accounts/acc_4f21/invoices \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"items":[{"description":"Bookkeeping, October 2026","amount":1200}],"due_date":"2026-10-28"}'
```

Example response

```
{
"invoice_id": "inv_2291",
"account_id": "acc_4f21",
"items": [
{
"description": "Bookkeeping, October 2026",
"amount": 1200
}
],
"total": 1200,
"due_date": "2026-10-28",
"status": "sent"
}
```

MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is taxdome\_write → send\_invoice. Example data.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it safe to connect TaxDome to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to TaxDome yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get TaxDome once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.

## For AI agents: sign your user up

Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.

1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.

One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
