# Improve Teachers Pay Teachers titles with search keywords

## Can Teachers Pay Teachers do this on its own?

Teachers Pay Teachers has no API for Search Analytics (checked 12 Oct 2026). Search Analytics was a Premium Seller tool; from 1 Oct 2026 TPT replaces Premium with the Exclusive Seller membership, which lists Search Analytics and Keyword Finder among its benefits. Basic Sellers get three Keyword Finder searches a day. TPT shows the keywords but does not suggest or change titles.

## How you do it in Teachers Pay Teachers today

1. Open Search Analytics. The bubble chart at the top always shows your top 5 keywords of the last 30 days, whatever date range you pick, and hides itself when fewer than 5 keywords have visits.
2. Set the date range. To see one listing, choose it in the product selector and click Save; Search Analytics shows one product at a time.
3. Click a keyword to see which of your resources buyers opened after searching for it, with visits, conversion rate and earnings.
4. Open Product Listings in another tab, find the resource, compare its title and description with the keywords, and edit them.
5. Repeat for each product. Matching a keyword table against dozens of titles by eye is slow, and misspelled searches sit in the same table as real keywords.

### Pull the keywords that bring buyers  
The agent calls get\_search\_keywords for the period you name, never earlier than 1 Jan 2025, and keeps keywords with visits. Misspellings are merged into the correctly spelled keyword, and brand names you do not own are set aside, because TPT holds sellers responsible for trademarks.

### Find the gap per listing  
For your active listings from list\_products, the agent calls get\_search\_keywords again with each product\_id. A listing that gets visits from a keyword its title does not contain is a candidate; a title that already covers its top keywords is left alone.
3. 03  
### Rewrite without stuffing  
Before proposing a title, the agent calls get\_product and checks the grades and description, so the new title stays true to the file. It adds one or two keywords at most and keeps the grade range in the title.

### Show before and after  
You see the old title, the proposed one and the keyword data behind it. Only approved titles go through update\_product.
5. 05  
### Compare next period  
Keyword earnings count only purchases within 24 hours of a search visit, so the agent compares the same keywords in the following period instead of judging a title by total store earnings.

Before you automate it

## What Teachers Pay Teachers allows, and what to know first

- TPT Search Analytics counts a keyword visit only when a buyer searches in the TPT search bar and clicks straight to a product page; visits through your store page or Google do not count.
- TPT Search Analytics credits a conversion and earnings only when the purchase happens within 24 hours of the keyword visit, so keyword earnings stay below store earnings.
- TPT Search Analytics data goes back to 1 January 2025 and shows no impressions or ranking positions.
- Misspelled searches, such as "phnomic" for "phonemic", appear as separate keywords in TPT Search Analytics.
- The TPT Keyword Finder can show trademarked terms that buyers search for, and TPT makes the seller responsible for respecting trademarks in titles.

update\_product asks for your OK by default. To run it on a schedule without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.
