# Create Thryv estimates from quote requests in the inbox

> Your agent turns "how much would it cost" messages in Thryv into itemized estimate drafts priced from your services menu, ready for you to send.

A homeowner texts "how much to clean the gutters and trim two trees?" while you are on another job. In Thryv the answer is an estimate, which means leaving the inbox for Sales > Estimates and building it line by line for every lead.

Cotlet does it in your own Thryv account with list\_conversations, list\_clients, add\_client, list\_services and create\_estimate, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Official options

## Can Thryv do this on its own?

Thryv has no public API for estimates and its Zapier app has no estimate action (checked 12 Oct 2026). In the app, every estimate is built by hand from a contact card or Sales > Estimates. Copy Estimate helps with similar quotes, but nothing in Thryv turns an inbox message into an estimate.

By hand

## How you do it in Thryv today

1. Read the request in the Thryv inbox, then open the sender's contact card, or add them with + New Client on the estimate's contact selection screen.
2. Start the estimate with Quick Actions > New Estimate, with New Estimate on the contact card, or with Sales > Estimates > New > Estimate.
3. Search each service in the line item field, then use the pencil icon on the row to set quantity, price, discount and tax.
4. Expand Terms & Notes to edit the terms, add notes or require a signature, check the expiration date, which Thryv sets 30 days out, and click Send.
5. Go back to the inbox for the next lead. Every quote request repeats the same clicks, and a lead left for the evening waits hours for a number.

With an agent

## How to create Thryv estimates from quote requests in the inbox

Prompt

```
Find this week's quote requests in my Thryv inbox and draft an estimate for each one from my services menu. Save them as drafts and tell me what you assumed.
```

1. 01
### Pick out the quote requests
The agent reads recent threads with list\_conversations and keeps those asking what a job would cost. Threads where you already answered with a price, and messages that only ask for a time, are left out.
2. 02
### Attach the estimate to the right person
The email or phone number from the thread is searched with list\_clients. A lead with no card gets add\_client with a "lead" tag and a note naming the channel, so you can filter new leads later on the Clients tab.
3. 03
### Price only from your own menu
Each piece of work in the message is matched to an entry from list\_services at its saved price, and quantities come from the wording, so "two trees" becomes quantity 2\. Work that has no entry on your menu is never priced by guess: the agent stops and asks you for the amount.
4. 04
### Save drafts unless told to send
create\_estimate runs with send set to false, so each estimate waits as a Draft in Sales > Estimates where you can edit it, add a deposit and send it. Sending straight to the client happens only when your prompt says so and you approve the call.
5. 05
### Show the assumptions
Each draft comes back with what the agent assumed, such as "no address given" or "one story house", plus the original message, so you can check the guesses before the price reaches the client.

### What you get back

Example data

```
4 quote requests found, Mon 6 Oct to Sun 12 Oct
Draft saved, Ana Ruiz (new client, tagged lead): Gutter cleaning 1 x 140.00, Tree trimming 2 x 95.00, total 330.00
Draft saved, Jordan Hale: Fall cleanup 1 x 220.00, total 220.00, assumed one visit
Needs a price: Ben Okafor asked for stump grinding, which is not on your services menu
Skipped: Kim Tran already got a price from you by text on 9 Oct
```

### Other ways to ask

- Draft estimates for every quote request since Monday and send the ones under 300 dollars after I approve them.
- Only handle quote requests from people who are not clients yet, and tag them "lead".
- Every evening at 6 pm, prepare estimate drafts for the day's quote requests.

Before you automate it

## What Thryv allows, and what to know first

- Thryv sets an estimate to expire 30 days after it is created by default, and sends the client an automated reminder when an estimate is close to expiring.
- Thryv lets you rename the estimate label to Quote, Proposal or Bid, and the estimate number counts up from the previous estimate.
- A Thryv deposit is added with Request a Deposit on the open estimate, as a percentage or a flat amount, and the client approves and pays it from the client portal in one step.
- An Approved estimate in Thryv can no longer be edited; Issue Invoice turns it into an invoice and changes the estimate status to Invoiced.

create\_estimate asks for your OK by default. To run it daily without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.
