# Remind overdue WorkRamp learners with AI

> Find learners overdue on a WorkRamp guide or path and send each a reminder with a custom message, managers included. Hosted, nothing to maintain.

Source: https://cotlet.dev/integrations/workramp-api-mcp-server/remind-overdue-learners

A compliance guide passes its due date, and someone in the Admin Console has to filter the assignments table by status, tick the late learners and write the reminder.

Cotlet does it in your own WorkRamp account with list\_trainings, list\_assignments and remind\_learners, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can WorkRamp do this on its own?

WorkRamp sends automatic due date and overdue reminders from Settings > Emails, and the reminder is sent to learners who have not completed or passed the assignment (checked 22 Oct 2026). Its API reference lists no endpoint for a manual reminder, and the announced MCP server is read and search only. A reminder with your own wording, to a filtered group, on the day you pick, is a click path today.

## How you do it in WorkRamp today

1. An admin opens the training from Content, so its overview page shows the assignments table with each learner and status.
2. The Status button filters the table to overdue assignments, and +Add Filter narrows it to a Group.
3. The admin ticks the learners, clicks Actions > Remind and adds an optional message, or uses Remind User from the dropdown beside one learner.
4. To copy the managers in, the admin selects "Notify recipients' manager(s)" before sending.
5. Settings > Emails sets the automatic cadence, so the manual reminder is the only way to nudge a group on a day of your choice.

## How to remind overdue WorkRamp learners with AI

Prompt

```
Find everyone overdue on Security Awareness 2026 in the Sales group, send them a reminder asking to finish by Friday, and notify their managers.
```

1. 01
### Find the training
Your agent calls list\_trainings with your title, so it sends to the right guide or path. If two trainings share the title, it asks which one before it reads any learner.
2. 02
### Read the overdue rows
list\_assignments runs with status set to the overdue value the Status filter shows and group set to Sales. It follows next\_cursor to the end, so a long list is judged as one batch, and keeps only learners who have not completed the assignment.
3. 03
### Skip who was just reminded
The agent leaves out learners it already reminded in the last run of your schedule, so a daily job does not send the same email five days in a row.
4. 04
### Send one reminder per training
remind\_learners goes out once for the whole list, with your message and notify\_managers set when you asked for it. The managers get a Manager Escalation email at the same time. Each call waits for your OK by default.
5. 05
### Report who was reached
The agent lists the learners reminded and the ones it skipped, with the days each is overdue.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Security Awareness 2026, Sales group: 3 overdue
Reminded 2, managers notified:
- Tom Becker, 9 days overdue
- Jake Ortiz, 2 days overdue
Skipped 1: Anna Lopez, reminded yesterday
```

### Other ways to ask

- Every weekday, remind learners more than 7 days overdue and list the rest for me.
- Remind only learners who have not started the guide, with a message that points to the first lesson.
- Show me who is overdue in each group, but send nothing.

## What WorkRamp allows, and what to know first

- WorkRamp lets an admin set up to 4 notifications before the due date and up to 4 reminders once the assignment is overdue, and these emails trigger around 2pm UTC.
- WorkRamp applies the account-level reminder settings automatically to every assignment that has a due date, and a single piece of content can override the cadence.
- For a Path, WorkRamp sends reminders at the Path level, not for each guide inside it.
- A manual Remind from the Admin Console goes to users who have not completed or passed the assignment.
- If reminders are enabled for the enterprise, learners can change their notification settings on their Profile tab.

remind\_learners asks for your OK by default. To run it daily without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

## Call remind\_learners from a script

curl

```
curl -X POST https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/workramp/trainings/trn_7a21c4/learners/remind \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"learner_ids":["usr_31f0a2","usr_8b44e9"],"message":"Please finish Security Awareness 2026 by Friday.","notify_managers":true}'
```

Example response

```
{
"training": "Security Awareness 2026",
"reminded": 2,
"skipped": [],
"managers_notified": true
}
```

MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is workramp\_write → remind\_learners. Example data.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it safe to connect WorkRamp to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to WorkRamp yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get WorkRamp once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.

## For AI agents: sign your user up

Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.

1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.

One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
