# Download signed Yousign documents and audit trails

> Collect every completed Yousign request, download the signed PDF and the audit trail of each signer, and name them for your archive.

Finance needs the signed PDF and the proof file of every contract, and in Yousign each one is a separate click on a separate screen.

Cotlet does it in your own Yousign account with list\_signature\_requests, download\_signed\_documents and download\_audit\_trail, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

## Can Yousign do this on its own?

Yousign shows a download button per request and no bulk export of audit trails (checked 20 Oct 2026). The Zapier app has a Signature Request Done trigger with options to include documents and audit trails, which fires as requests complete. The REST API downloads both on paid API plans.

## How you do it in Yousign today

1. The user opens the Signatures page, finds a request with Completed status and clicks the "..." to the right of its name, then "Download Documents".
2. A single document downloads as a PDF and several documents as a zip; Yousign adds "(signed)" to the name of a completed request.
3. The audit trail is a separate file: on the details page the user clicks "..." beside "Download document" and chooses "Download audit trail", which gives a zip with one file per signer.
4. For an expired, cancelled or pending request, the audit trail comes only from the "..." beside each signer who has already signed.
5. The app cannot export the audit trails of many requests at once, so the routine repeats per request.

## How to download signed Yousign documents and audit trails

Prompt

```
Find signature requests completed since yesterday and download each signed document and its audit trail.
```

1. 01
### List the completed requests
list\_signature\_requests runs with the Completed status. The agent keeps requests that finished after the date in your prompt and skips ones it already filed in an earlier run.
2. 02
### Download the signed documents
download\_signed\_documents returns one PDF, or a zip when the request has several documents or attachments. The agent names it with the request name and the completion date.
3. 03
### Download the audit trails
download\_audit\_trail returns the zip with one file per signer. For a request that is not completed, the agent asks for one signer at a time and only for signers who have signed.
4. 04
### Check what is missing
A request with a declined or missing signer has no full audit trail. The agent lists it as incomplete instead of filing a partial set.
5. 05
### Hand over the files
The agent returns the file list with sizes. Where the files go next, a drive folder or your accounting inbox, is up to the agent you run it from.

### What you get back

Example data

```
Completed since yesterday: 3
Downloaded 3 signed documents, e.g. Service agreement (signed).pdf
Downloaded 3 audit trails, 2 signers each
Incomplete 0
```

### Other ways to ask

- Every Friday, download everything completed this week and list the totals per signer.
- Download the audit trail of the Lease renewal request only.
- Get the signed Freelance agreement for Ana Lopez and tell me when she signed.

## What Yousign allows, and what to know first

- A signer's audit trail exists only after that signer has signed, and it is a separate PDF, not part of the signed document.
- In the app, audit trails are in English only; another language needs the API.
- Each audit trail holds the signer details, the authentication method, the signing context and the hash of the signed PDF.
- Only account users with access to the request can download its audit trail; external signers cannot.

Every tool here only reads, so it can run daily from n8n, Make, Zapier or cron without waiting for your OK.

## Call download\_signed\_documents from a script

curl

```
curl https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/yousign/signature-requests/5d9a0b3c-67e1-4c28-b4f7-0e82a1d6c395/signed-documents/download \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COTLET_API_KEY"
```

Example response

```
{
"file_name": "Service agreement (signed).pdf",
"size_bytes": 184320,
"download_url": "https://files.cotlet.dev/d/Q3x9Lk2mVw"
}
```

MCP: add https://cotlet.dev/mcp/v1 with the same key; the call is yousign\_read → download\_signed\_documents. Example data.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it safe to connect Yousign to Cotlet?

Yes. You sign in to Yousign yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Yousign once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.

## For AI agents: sign your user up

Is your user asking you to sign them up for Cotlet? You can do it for them, no account or key needed.

1. Read the fields and their allowed values: GET https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests
2. Ask the user for each value: email, apps, what you will do with them. If they leave the password to you, generate a strong one and show it to them.
3. Show the user what you will send, then POST it as JSON to https://cotlet.dev/api/v1/access-requests.

One call creates the account and sends the access request; we email the user when access is granted.
