Booksy automation · runs weekly
Win back lapsed Booksy clients with a Message Blast
Regulars stop booking without saying why, and you notice weeks later when their name no longer shows up in the calendar. Sending them a nudge in Booksy means building the list in Clients, then writing a Message Blast from the Marketing menu.
Cotlet does it in your own Booksy account with list_clients, list_appointments and send_message_blast, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Can Booksy do this on its own?
Booksy has no API for Message Blasts or client groups (checked 12 Oct 2026). Booksy itself offers automatic groups (New Clients, Most Loyal, Slipping Away), hashtags on client cards for custom groups, and automated reactivation campaigns with a timeframe and text you choose. The gap: none of it is reachable from a script or agent, and the recipient list and rebookings stay inside the app.
By hand
How you do it in Booksy today
- Open the Clients tab, tap the filter icon in the top left, choose a group such as Slipping Away and tap Apply.
- Open client cards from the filtered list to see the last visit and whether a new appointment is already booked, so a regular who just rebooked does not get the offer.
- Go to More > Marketing > Message Blast and pick email, SMS or a push notification to the Booksy Client App.
- Choose a template or write your own text, select the recipients and send.
- Do it again next month. Booksy does not publish how many days without a visit put a client in Slipping Away, and nothing reports back which recipients rebooked after the blast.
With an agent
How to win back lapsed Booksy clients with a Message Blast
Prompt
Find Booksy clients who have not been in for 45 days and have nothing booked, and send them an email about our Thursday Happy Hour. Show me the list and the text first. - 01
Pick a cutoff that fits the service
The agent asks list_clients for clients whose last visit is older than the number of days you chose, for example 45 for cuts. You can give different cutoffs, and the agent runs one pass per group.
- 02
Drop anyone already booked
list_appointments for the next 60 days shows who already has a visit coming. Those clients are removed from the list, because a win-back offer to someone booked for Friday reads like a mistake.
- 03
Respect the channel and the budget
Clients without an email are left out of an email blast. For SMS the agent counts recipients against the 2,000 marketing texts in your plan and suggests push or email for Booksy app users when the month is nearly used up.
- 04
Show the list and text, then send once
You see the recipient count, a sample of names and the exact message. send_message_blast runs only after your OK, as a single blast, and the agent logs the date so next week's run skips the same people.
- 05
Check who came back
On the next run the agent compares the previous recipients with new appointments and reports how many rebooked, so you can judge the offer without opening Booksy.
What you get back
Example data
Cutoff: last visit before 28 Aug (45 days)
58 clients found, 9 already booked, 6 without email
Email blast sent to 43 clients: "Thursday Happy Hour: 20% off any cut, 4 to 6 pm"
Last week's blast (31 clients): 7 have rebooked, next visits 14 to 22 Oct
SMS used this month: 640 of 2,000 Other ways to ask
- Every Monday, text clients who have not been in for 30 days and tell them about open Tuesday slots.
- Send a push notification to color clients who have not been in for 10 weeks, everyone else after 6 weeks.
- Just give me the list of clients who stopped coming this quarter, with their last service and staff member. Do not send anything.
Before you automate it
What Booksy allows, and what to know first
- Booksy sends Message Blast SMS from an automated number, so client replies to the text never reach you.
- Booksy adds a link to your Booksy profile at the bottom of every Message Blast automatically.
- Booksy includes unlimited emails and up to 2,000 marketing SMS a month in the subscription; appointment confirmations and reminders do not count against that limit.
- Booksy automatic campaigns send at most four unique messages a month, so clients in several groups do not get duplicates.
send_message_blast asks for your OK by default. To run it weekly without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

Frequently asked questions
Can clients reply to a Booksy Message Blast?
Not by SMS. Booksy sends blast texts from an automated number and replies do not reach you, so end the message with your shop name and point clients to the booking link Booksy adds.
