Create recurring Momence classes for a new term

The new term timetable sits in a spreadsheet: twenty weekly classes, six teachers, two rooms and a couple of online slots. Each line has to be typed into the Momence New Class form, with the right template and an end date.

Cotlet does it in your own Momence account with list_classes and create_class, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Official options

Can Momence do this on its own?

Momence builds recurring series natively and keeps adding classes to a series automatically (Momence Help, checked 12 Oct 2026). The help center pages we checked describe one series per form and no import from a timetable file. The Momence Developer API has no endpoint to create or edit classes (checked 11 Oct 2026). The gap is the bulk entry and the checking, not the recurrence itself.

By hand

How you do it in Momence today

  1. Open Classes > Schedule > New Class and choose Recurring Class.
  2. Pick an existing class template, or create one, that matches the class format: in person for a studio class, online for a virtual one.
  3. Select the teacher and location, set the start date and start time, the end date and the days between classes (usually 7). Add interval repeats the class on another weekday. Then click Create.
  4. To hold classes back until the timetable is checked, set the customer "number of classes to display" to 0 so Momence creates them as Unpublished, then publish each one later from the dropdown on the Schedule page.
  5. The form is filled once per timetable line. Forgetting the end date on one line leaves that class scheduling itself past the end of term, and a series still running from last term is easy to duplicate.

How to create recurring Momence classes for a new term

Prompt

Here is our winter timetable. Create each class as a weekly series in Momence from 5 January to 29 March, as drafts, and tell me about any line you could not match to a template or teacher.
  1. 01

Match every line to a template

The agent reads your timetable and pairs each line with an existing class template by name and type. A line with no matching template is not guessed: the agent lists it and asks you to create the template in Momence first or pick the closest one.

  2. 02

    Look for what already runs

list_classes for the first two weeks of the term shows what is already scheduled. A line whose template, teacher and time match an existing series from last term is skipped and reported, because that series is probably still open-ended and would otherwise run twice.

  3. 03

    Catch teacher clashes

Before creating anything the agent checks that no teacher has two classes at overlapping times on the same weekday across the whole timetable. A clash stops that pair and goes back to you.

  4. 04

Create one draft series per weekday

A class that runs on Tuesday and Thursday becomes two create_class calls, each with repeat_every_days set to 7, the term end date and as_draft on. Nothing appears to customers yet. A hybrid slot gets two series with the same title, teacher, start time and duration, one from the online template.

  5. 05

    Hand back the review list

The agent reports each new series with its first and last date, plus every skipped line and why. You check the drafts on the Momence Schedule page and publish them there.

What you get back

Example data

Winter term, 5 Jan to 29 Mar: 18 draft series created
Mon 07:00 Sunrise Flow, Maya Lee, Studio A: 12 classes
Tue + Thu 18:00 Power Vinyasa, Sam Ortiz, Studio B: 2 series, 24 classes
Wed 19:30 Yin, online + in person (hybrid pair), Lena Park
Skipped: Fri 09:00 Pilates Mat, already running from autumn with no end date
Needs you: "Kids Yoga" has no template; Tue 18:00 clash for Sam Ortiz

Other ways to ask

  • Add a one-off Saturday workshop on 14 February at 2pm with Maya, saved as a draft.
  • Copy every weekly class Lena teaches this term into next term with the same times, ending 28 June.
  • Create the new 6am classes from the timetable as published series, since they are already announced.

Before you automate it

What Momence allows, and what to know first

  • A Momence recurring series with no end date keeps adding a new class as each one completes, until you set an end date or cancel the series.
  • A Momence class template has to match the class format, in person or online, and an online class can use Automatic zoom link to generate a new secure Zoom link for each class.
  • Saving changes to a Momence recurring class asks whether to update all classes in the series or only those after a chosen date, and a series edit cannot change the price in credits; that change belongs on the template.
  • Teacher availability and a weekly class limit per teacher are set in Momence under Studio Setup > Teachers, in the Class Availability section of each teacher.
  • Momence shows a hybrid class as one listing when you create two series, one in person and one online, with the same title, teacher, start time and duration.

create_class changes only your own Momence data and reach no one else, so it runs without asking first.
