Reply to unanswered Thryv reviews with an AI agent
On Monday the Reputation tab in Thryv shows a stack of reviews labeled Response Needed, from Google, Facebook and your client portal. ThryvAI can suggest wording, but someone still has to open each review, pick a suggestion, fix it and post it.
Cotlet does it in your own Thryv account with list_reviews, list_clients and reply_to_review, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Can Thryv do this on its own?
Thryv has no API for the Reputation dashboard and no Zapier action for reviews (checked 12 Oct 2026). Inside the app, ThryvAI suggests three replies per review, but Thryv never posts a reply on its own: a person picks the text and clicks Reply, one review at a time. Review Management is included only in select Thryv Business Center accounts.
By hand
How you do it in Thryv today
- Open Reputation > Reviews in Thryv Business Center. The review list is filtered by default to reviews that still need a response; click All to see the rest.
- Click Respond under a review and type a reply, or click the magic wand icon so ThryvAI suggests three responses. Clicking the wand again gives three new ones.
- Pick a ThryvAI suggestion, edit it so it fits the real job, then click Reply to publish it on the site where the review was posted.
- For Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews, click Reply on Yelp/TripAdvisor and answer on that site, signed in with your own credentials.
- Repeat for every review. ThryvAI writes from the wording of the review, so the service the client had and the fix you made only get in if you type them.

How to reply to unanswered Thryv reviews with an AI agent
Prompt
Reply to every Thryv review from the last 7 days that still needs a response. Thank the happy ones by what they mention, apologize on the low ones and give our phone number, and hold anything about refunds for me. - 01
Collect only what needs an answer
The agent asks list_reviews for reviews without a reply since the start of the period, usually the last 7 days. A review from Yelp or TripAdvisor goes on a separate list for you, because Thryv cannot post to those two sites from the dashboard.
- 02
Match the reviewer to a client card
For each review the agent searches list_clients by the reviewer's name. With exactly one match, the reply can mention the service on that card. With two matches or none, the reply stays general and never guesses which job it was.
- 03
Write by rating, not by template
Four and five stars get a short thank-you that repeats one concrete thing the reviewer praised. One to three stars get an apology, one sentence on the complaint and an invitation to call your business number, with no discount or refund promise unless your prompt allows one.
- 04
Hold the sensitive ones
A review that mentions a refund, damage, an injury, a lawyer or a staff member by name is drafted but not posted. The agent stops there, so you decide what a public answer should say.
- 05
Post after your OK, never twice
Each reply_to_review call waits for your approval with the review and the draft side by side. Just before posting, the agent reads the list again and skips any review that got an answer in Thryv in the meantime.
What you get back
Example data
7 reviews without a reply, 5 to 11 Oct
Posted after your OK: 5 (Google 3, Facebook 1, Thryv portal 1)
Dana K., 5 stars, Google: thanked for the fall lawn treatment, matched to her client card
Marco P., 2 stars, Facebook: apologized for the late arrival on 7 Oct, asked him to call (555) 010-0100
Held for you: Lisa R., 1 star, asks for a refund on the edging job
Answer on Yelp yourself: Tom W., 4 stars Other ways to ask
- Reply only to Google reviews from the last 30 days and show me every draft before anything is posted.
- Every Monday, answer new four and five star reviews, and send me the one to three star ones as drafts.
- List the Thryv reviews still waiting for a reply, lowest rating first, without replying to any.
Before you automate it
What Thryv allows, and what to know first
- Thryv posts replies from the dashboard only to Google, Facebook and Thryv client portal reviews; Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews show a Reply on Yelp/TripAdvisor link instead.
- Answering Yelp reviews through Thryv requires being a direct paid Yelp advertiser, and Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews never appear in the Thryv Needs Response filter, only under All.
- A Thryv review left in the client portal waits in a 7-day quarantine before it shows on the portal, unless you publish it sooner, and it can also be answered privately from the Thryv inbox.
- A reply already posted from the Thryv Reputation dashboard can be changed later: open the review, edit the text and click Reply again.
- Flag Review in the Thryv three-dot menu only reports a review to the site it came from, and that site decides whether it comes down.
reply_to_review asks for your OK by default. To run it weekly without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

Frequently asked questions
Can the agent get a fake review removed?
No. Cotlet has no tool for flagging, and in Thryv you flag a review yourself from the three-dot menu with Flag Review. Thryv then reports it to the review site, which makes the final decision.
