Find cities to tour from Bandsintown fan requests
Before a booking call, the agent or manager asks where to play next. The answer sits in Bandsintown Insights under Top Markets, but it has to be checked by hand against the dates already booked.
Cotlet does it in your own Bandsintown account with get_top_markets, list_events, get_event_stats and get_follower_stats, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Can Bandsintown do this on its own?
Bandsintown shows Top Markets, fan requests and Events Performance in Insights, free, and lets you download the data as a CSV (checked 12 Oct 2026). A Weekly Report email, switched under My Account > Email Preferences, details activity on Bandsintown and alerts about unpublished events. The public API reads events but returns no Insights data. We found no Bandsintown view that lines up demand by city against the dates you have already booked.
By hand
How you do it in Bandsintown today
- Open Insights in the left-hand menu of the Bandsintown for Artists dashboard and go to Top Markets.
- Switch the Top Markets list between By trackers and By Fan Requests, and filter by location when you only care about one country.
- Open Events Performance in Insights to see RSVPs and ticket clicks per booked show, filtered by venue or location.
- Download the Insights data as a CSV report, then put it next to the tour sheet and match city names by hand.
- Bandsintown shows demand and bookings on separate screens, so a city with many requests and no date, or a booked show with few RSVPs, only shows up after that manual match.

How to find cities to tour from Bandsintown fan requests
Prompt
Compare our Bandsintown top markets and fan requests with the tour we have booked. Which cities have demand but no date, and which booked shows have few RSVPs? - 01
Pull demand two ways
get_top_markets runs twice, ranked by trackers and by fan_requests, with a limit of 25. A city high on requests but lower on trackers is called out: those fans asked for a show, not just a follow.
- 02
Line it up with the booked tour
list_events returns upcoming dates. The agent matches cities, treating a suburb or a nearby city within the same metro as covered, and states the match it used so you can disagree.
- 03
Check the shows already on sale
For booked cities, get_event_stats returns RSVPs per show. A date with RSVPs well below what that city's tracker count suggests is flagged as a promotion problem, not a routing one.
- 04
Add the trend, then stop
get_follower_stats for 4 weeks adds context: total followers and their change. The report is a shortlist for the booking conversation. Nothing is posted or changed, and the agent says when the page is under the 100 followers Insights needs.
What you get back
Example data
Demand vs booked tour, 12 Oct 2026.
No date, strong demand: Dublin (rank 3 by fan requests, 214 requests), Amsterdam (rank 5, 160), Glasgow (rank 7 by trackers).
Booked and healthy: London 28 Nov, 612 RSVPs. Leeds 21 Nov, 212 RSVPs.
Booked, few RSVPs: Bristol 20 Nov, 31 RSVPs against 940 trackers in the city.
Followers: 18,420, up 412 in 4 weeks. Other ways to ask
- Only Germany, Austria and Switzerland: rank cities by fan requests and tell me which ones we have not played in the last 12 months.
- Every Monday, send me followers, RSVPs and ticket clicks for the last 7 days with the change against the week before.
- We are planning a US run next spring. List the top 15 US cities by trackers and mark the ones with no past show.
Before you automate it
What Bandsintown allows, and what to know first
- Bandsintown Insights starts filling with data once the artist page reaches 100 followers.
- Fan requests in Bandsintown come from the Request A Show button on the Widget or Smart Link, shown when the artist has no nearby events, and from the artist's Bandsintown page.
- Bandsintown says a fan request does not commit the artist to playing in that city.
- Top Markets in Bandsintown sorts By trackers or By Fan Requests, and a pre-filled geo-targeted post from that list is tied to a paid VIP feature.
- A Bandsintown post can target only one location, so reaching fans in five candidate cities means five separate posts.
Every tool here only reads, so it can run monthly from n8n, Make, Zapier or cron without waiting for your OK.
