Beautiful.ai automation
Replace text across all your Beautiful.ai decks
The product got a new name, the fiscal year rolled over, or a price changed, and the old wording sits in a dozen Beautiful.ai decks across Sales and Customer Success. Fixing one deck is quick; finding every deck that still carries the old phrase is the slow part.
Cotlet does it in your own Beautiful.ai account with list_folders, list_presentations, get_slides, update_slide_text and duplicate_presentation, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Can Beautiful.ai do this on its own?
Beautiful.ai has Find and Replace inside the editor and Deep Text Search across the library, but no action that replaces a phrase in many presentations at once (checked 12 Oct 2026). Its API only creates presentations from an outline, and its MCP connector FAQ says it does not edit slides of an existing deck. Team Slides are the one native exception: an Owner or Librarian edits a shared slide once and the change appears in every presentation that uses it.
By hand
How you do it in Beautiful.ai today
- Search the Beautiful.ai library with Deep Text Search, which lists the presentations that contain a word or phrase anywhere in their slides.
- Open each presentation from the results and press Ctrl+F (Command+F on a Mac), the Find and Replace shortcut in the Beautiful.ai editor.
- Replace the phrase in that deck, then go back to the Beautiful.ai library and open the next search result, one presentation at a time.
- If the phrase sits on a Team Slide, only an Owner or Librarian can change it, through Edit Shared Slide or Team Resources > Team Slides > Shared Slides.
- Nothing records which decks are already fixed, so a deck in a colleague's folder or a similar spelling ("Acme insights", "AcmeInsights") is easy to miss.
With an agent
How to replace text across all your Beautiful.ai decks
Prompt
We renamed Acme Insights to Acme Pulse. Find every deck in the Sales folder that still says Acme Insights, show me the matches, then replace them. - 01
Agree on the scope first
The agent asks which decks count: one folder, titles with a keyword, or everything you can open. It resolves the folder name with list_folders and pulls the decks with list_presentations. Decks owned by someone else are listed separately and left alone unless you include them.
- 02
Collect every match before changing one
For each deck the agent reads all slides with get_slides and records slide number, layout and the full line around the phrase. It also flags near misses with different case or spacing, so you decide whether "Acme insights" counts.
- 03
Show the list and wait
You get a count per deck and the lines that will change. Lines where a plain swap would read wrong, such as a sentence that explains the old name, are marked for you to word by hand.
- 04
Replace slide by slide
After your yes, update_slide_text runs once per matching slide with the exact text found. When a slide returns 0 replacements because someone edited it in the meantime, the agent rereads that slide instead of guessing.
- 05
Report what stayed
The run ends with decks changed, slides changed and the matches left on purpose. A deck that should keep the old wording, like last year's archive, stays untouched when you name it.
What you get back
Example data
Scope: Sales folder, 14 decks. Searched for "Acme Insights".
Acme Pulse overview: 6 slides changed (2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 12).
Q3 QBR, Northwind: 2 slides changed (4, 11).
Renewal playbook (owner: Maria Lopez): 3 matches, skipped, not your deck.
Pricing one-pager: slide 6 says "formerly Acme Insights", kept as written.
Near miss: "AcmeInsights" on slide 2 of Partner kit, not changed. Say if it should be.
11 decks had no match. Other ways to ask
- Duplicate October's sales review as "Sales review, November" and replace October with November on every slide of the copy.
- Replace FY25 with FY26 in every deck I updated this month, but skip anything in the Archive folder.
- Only list the decks and slides that still mention our old price of $49; do not change anything yet.
Before you automate it
What Beautiful.ai allows, and what to know first
- Beautiful.ai Deep Text Search finds every instance of a term across all your presentations, and in Shared Slides or Copy Slides it filters results by Presentation Title, Slide Content or Template.
- Beautiful.ai lists Find and Replace among its editor keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl+F on Windows and Command+F on a Mac.
- A Beautiful.ai Team Slide updates in every presentation that uses it, and Shared Slides Properties lists those presentations under Where Is This Slide Used.
- Beautiful.ai Version History (a Pro feature) keeps earlier versions of each slide under Manage > Revert to Previous Version, with the editor's name on shared decks.
- Beautiful.ai Version History also lists the slides deleted from a presentation and recovers each one with a click.
update_slide_text and duplicate_presentation change only your own Beautiful.ai data and reach no one else, so they run without asking first.

Frequently asked questions
What about text on a Team Slide?
A Team Slide is shared across presentations and only an Owner or Librarian can edit it in Beautiful.ai. The agent reports matches it finds there so the right person edits the shared slide once, and the change then reaches every deck that uses it.
