Pause low-converting Privy popups
Over a season, a store collects popups, and some of them keep showing to every visitor while almost nobody signs up. Checking each one by hand means opening a report per popup.
Cotlet does it in your own Privy account with list_displays and pause_display, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Can Privy do this on its own?
Privy's API and read-only MCP list displays and their performance but cannot pause or launch one (checked 23 Oct 2026). Pausing is a click in the Displays list.
How you do it in Privy today
- The Displays page shows Views, Signups and Orders in an aggregate view, and each display card previews its own numbers.
- Click a display's card to open its Display Reports, where Signup Rate is the percentage of views that ended in a signup. Click the dates for a custom timeframe.
- To stop one, find it in Displays, click the ellipsis (...), choose Pause and confirm with Pause again.
- A paused display no longer appears on your site. The same menu shows Launch to turn it back on.
- A display set to Custom Dates under Settings > Scheduling ends by itself, while an Ongoing one runs until you turn it off.
How to pause low-converting Privy popups
List my live popups. Pause every popup with at least 3000 views and a signup rate under 1%, and tell me which ones you paused. - 01
List what is live
list_displays with status live returns each popup with Views, Signups and Signup Rate as Privy shows them on the card. Drafts, paused and ended displays are not in the run.
- 02
Apply your threshold
The agent keeps displays that meet both numbers from your prompt, for example at least 3000 views and under 1%. A display with fewer views is skipped as too little data and listed as such.
- 03
Pause the weak ones
pause_display runs once per display. It reaches no visitor you did not already show it to and launch_display undoes it, so it does not wait for your OK.
- 04
Check the result
The agent reads list_displays with status paused to confirm each display is paused, and reports any that is not.
- 05
Hand back the numbers
The report lists views, signups and rate per paused popup, so you decide whether to bring one back.
What you get back
Live popups checked: 7
Paused 2 (signup rate under 1%):
- Exit offer: 6200 views, 31 signups, 0.5%
- Spring flyout: 3900 views, 27 signups, 0.7%
Still live: 5 Other ways to ask
- Only list the popups under 1% and wait for my OK before pausing any.
- Pause the popups that ended their Custom Dates run and are still marked live.
- Relaunch the Exit offer popup, it is the one I paused last week.
What Privy allows, and what to know first
- Views counts a display appearing on a visitor's screen, not a Shopify pageview.
- Signup Rate is the percentage of views that ended in a signup, and a signup counts when a visitor submits the display's form.
- Orders counts purchases made with the email used to sign up through a display, with or without a coupon, so check Orders in Display Reports before you pause a popup with few signups.
- The aggregate view on the Displays page covers the period since account creation, while one display's report takes a custom timeframe.
- Pausing does not delete a display: it stops appearing, and Launch in the same menu turns it back on.
pause_display changes only your own Privy data and reach no one else, so it runs without asking first.

Is it safe to connect Privy to Cotlet?
Yes. You sign in to Privy yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Privy once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click.
