Log customer calls as Productboard feedback

The call ends, the notes sit in a doc, and the feedback reaches Productboard only if someone copies it over with the right company and person.

Cotlet does it in your own Productboard account with create_feedback and list_feedback, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Can Productboard do this on its own?

Productboard offers POST /v2/notes in API v2, a Create note action in its Zapier app and a Chrome extension for submitting insights (checked 22 Oct 2026). The API needs a token from a workspace admin on the Pro plan or higher. None of them reads the notes from your docs and splits one document into several items.

How you do it in Productboard today

  1. The PM goes to Main menu > Library > Feedback, or opens any insights board, and clicks Submit feedback at the bottom of the board.
  2. If a custom form is mapped to that button, the PM picks Default feedback from the list.
  3. The PM gives the item a short title naming the source, such as an email or a meeting, and identifies the company and the user.
  4. Tags come next when the workspace uses them, then the text goes into the empty field below the metadata. Productboard saves it by itself.
  5. Skipping the company and user is the usual slip, and the item then adds nothing to the customer score.

How to log customer calls as Productboard feedback

Prompt

Take the notes from today's customer calls and add each one to Productboard as feedback with the company, the person and the tags "interview" and "q4".
  1. 01

    Split the notes

The agent reads your notes and cuts them into one feedback item per customer and call, so a doc with four calls becomes four items with four titles.

  2. 02

Name the source in the title

The title follows Productboard's own advice: a short line naming where the feedback came from, such as "Call with Northwind, 21 Oct".

  3. 03

    Check for duplicates

list_feedback with a query for the company and title runs first. If the same call is already there, the agent skips it, so a rerun on the same doc adds nothing twice.

  4. 04

    Add company, person and tags

create_feedback takes the company and the user as you wrote them and your tags. When the notes do not name the company or the person, the item still goes in and is listed for you, because the company feeds the customer score.

  5. 05

    Report what was added

The agent returns each title and its link in Productboard, so the PM can open the items and process them.

What you get back

Example data

Calls in the notes: 3
Added 3 feedback items, tagged interview and q4:
- Call with Northwind, 21 Oct (Dana Ruiz)
- Call with Bluepeak, 21 Oct (Sam Ito)
- Call with unknown caller, 21 Oct (no company, listed for you)

Other ways to ask

  • Add the text of this email thread as feedback from the user who wrote it.
  • Every evening, add the notes in this folder as feedback tagged "sales-call".
  • Show me the feedback I would add from these notes and add nothing yet.

What Productboard allows, and what to know first

  • Productboard calls these items feedback and lets admins, makers and contributors add them. Viewers cannot.
  • Productboard uses the company and user on a feedback item for its Customer Importance Score.
  • Productboard saves feedback by itself, with no Save button, and accepts rich text, images, links, headers and attachments in the content.
  • Tags are optional and only offered when the workspace uses tags.

create_feedback changes only your own Productboard data and reach no one else, so it runs without asking first.
