Quickbase automation · runs weekly
Export a Quickbase report to CSV every week
Every Monday someone opens the Overdue work orders report, downloads it as CSV and tells the team what is late and where.
Cotlet does it in your own Quickbase account with list_reports and export_report, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.
Hosted · nothing to install or maintain
Can Quickbase do this on its own?
Quickbase documents a scheduled export with Pipelines, built from the Export records to a CSV step and an Upload a File step, for a whole table (checked 23 Oct 2026). The page does not say a saved report can be the source. A report export by hand needs the icon, and the file has no summary.
How you do it in Quickbase today
- A user opens the table, chooses Reports, and opens the saved report.
- The user clicks the Download report as CSV icon, and the browser asks whether to save or open the file.
- Any column header renamed in Column Properties carries over into the file, and a chart report cannot be exported.
- The user reads the file and writes the summary by hand, because totals and averages that the report shows are not in the CSV.
- For the whole table the user opens More, then Import/Export, and exports the table to a file instead.
How to export a Quickbase report to CSV every week
Every Monday run Overdue work orders in the Work orders table of Field Ops, export it as CSV, and give me a count by site and the oldest due date. - 01
Find the report by name
list_reports shows which reports your role can see. A report hidden from your role is not listed, so the agent tells you when the report you named is missing and does not export a different one.
- 02
Export what the report shows
export_report returns the CSV of the report with its saved filters and sorting, as the Download report as CSV icon gives it. File attachments are not in it.
- 03
Add what the CSV lacks
Totals and averages are not exported, so the agent counts rows by the column you name, for example Site, and reads the oldest value in Due itself from the file.
- 04
Hand it over
The agent returns the CSV text and the summary in one answer. n8n or your script passes the file on to a folder, a sheet or a channel, because export_report only reads from Quickbase.
What you get back
Overdue work orders: 3 rows
Plant North 1, Plant South 1, Depot 1
Oldest due date: 2026-10-17 (Replace pump seal)
CSV: 4 lines, header plus 3 records Other ways to ask
- Every Friday, export Open work orders for the Depot site and tell me which assignee has the most.
- Export the same report at the start of each month and compare the row count with last month's file.
- Run three reports, one per site, and give me one CSV for each.
What Quickbase allows, and what to know first
- Quickbase exports any report type except charts.
- Totals and averages shown in table and summary reports are not exported, because data must exist in a field to be exported.
- A timeline report exports only the data columns on its left side, not the bars.
- Quickbase manual exports skip file attachments, and its Pipelines help says a pipeline is needed for those.
- The compressed export file of a whole table has to be under 150 MB, so a very large table needs several reports.
Every tool here only reads, so it can run weekly from n8n, Make, Zapier or cron without waiting for your OK.

Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to connect Quickbase to Cotlet?
Yes. You sign in to Quickbase yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Quickbase once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.
