Download Riverside separate tracks for your editor
The episode is recorded, and your editor works in their own software, so they need every participant's file. In Riverside that is one Download click per person, after checking that the guest's track actually finished uploading.
Cotlet does it in your own Riverside account with list_recordings, get_recording and download_tracks, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Official options
Can Riverside do this on its own?
The Riverside Business API can retrieve recording media, but only select Business accounts get a key, through their customer success manager (checked 12 Oct 2026). The official Riverside MCP returns a download link for a recording, needs a Grow, Webinar or Business plan, and its README lists no per-participant track download.
By hand
How you do it in Riverside today
- Open the studio, select the project and click Recordings in the top menu, then scroll to the recording.
- Under Tracks, check each participant's status. A track goes through Recording, Uploading and Processing before it is Ready to download.
- Next to each Ready track, click Download and choose Raw video, Aligned video, Raw audio or Compressed audio. Repeat for every participant.
- If a guest left before the upload finished, send them riverside.com/upload and wait, or fall back to their lower-quality cloud recording.
- Riverside's Dropbox integration is no longer available, so the files reach the editor some other way. If a guest left early, Riverside starts processing their partial track 15 minutes after the call, and the tile shows how much of it exists.
With an agent
How to download Riverside separate tracks for your editor
Prompt
Get the raw WAV of each participant from yesterday's episode in The Product Hour for my editor. If anyone's track is still uploading, tell me who, and don't send partial files. - 01
Find the episode you mean
list_recordings for the studio with since set to the day before gives yesterday's takes. When there are two takes that day, the agent picks the longer one and says so, or asks if they are close in length.
- 02
Check every track is Ready
get_recording shows each participant's tracks. If any is still uploading or processing, the agent stops and names the person, because sending a partial file means a second round with the editor later.
- 03
Choose the format the editor can line up
Raw audio is the default. For video edits the agent asks for aligned video when guests joined late or shared a screen, so every file starts at 00:00 in the editor's timeline.
- 04
Fetch only who is needed
download_tracks with a participants filter skips people you exclude, such as a producer who only listened. Tracks without a link are listed as missing, never silently left out.
- 05
Repeat on a schedule without duplicates
Run weekly, the agent sets since to the date of the previous run, so recordings already handed over are not fetched again. A recording still uploading is retried on the next run instead of reported as done.
What you get back
Example data
Episode 41: Launch week (recorded Thu 8 Oct, 56 min)
Host: raw audio WAV, ready
Guest: raw audio WAV, ready
Screen share: skipped (not requested)
2 download links below. Nothing is still uploading.
Last week's Founders Q&A #17: guest track still Uploading; send them riverside.com/upload. Other ways to ask
- Every Monday, collect last week's new recordings in all my studios and give me the raw audio links per participant.
- Get aligned video tracks for the host and the guest from the latest Founders Q&A recording, not the screen share.
- Which recordings from the past month still have a participant track that never finished uploading?
Before you automate it
What Riverside allows, and what to know first
- Riverside counts separate track downloads against a monthly download-hours allowance per plan; once the account has recorded past that allowance, the option to download individual tracks disappears, and unused hours do not roll over.
- Riverside counts download hours by recording length, not by the number of participants: a one-hour session with three people uses one hour.
- Riverside adds alignment padding only to tracks recorded in a computer browser; tracks from the Riverside mobile app and Mac app come as raw tracks only.
- A raw aligned audio WAV exists in Riverside only when the studio is set to record audio only.
- Riverside compresses its Compressed audio MP3 to 64 kb/s at the studio's sample rate, about one tenth of the raw WAV size.
Every tool here only reads, so it can run weekly from n8n, Make, Zapier or cron without waiting for your OK.

Frequently asked questions
What if a guest never finishes uploading their Riverside track?
Riverside keeps a cloud recording of every participant, available right after the session. It is recorded over the internet, so its quality is lower, but it can stand in for the missing high-quality track.
