SimpleTexting automation · runs weekly
Schedule a SimpleTexting campaign to a list or segment
Every Monday the same campaign goes out by hand: pick the right list, check the segment, paste the text, set the time and click Schedule, then hope nobody already scheduled it.
Cotlet does it in your own SimpleTexting account with list_lists, list_segments, list_campaigns and schedule_campaign, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.
Hosted · nothing to install or maintain
Can SimpleTexting do this on its own?
SimpleTexting has no native way to hand this job to an agent (checked 23 Oct 2026). Its API is approval only and its page lists Send, Get and Get All for campaigns, with no send time. The Zapier action Send a Campaign builds a campaign and sends it out; the description mentions no date. Scheduling is done in the Campaigns screen.
How you do it in SimpleTexting today
- In SimpleTexting, go to Campaigns > New.
- Name the campaign, choose the recipients and write the SMS. The name is for you; subscribers do not see it.
- In the Send on section, choose Scheduled, set the date and time and click Next.
- Check the message and the send time on the last screen, then click Schedule.
- A scheduled campaign cannot be edited directly. To change the wording you write a new one and delete the old one with the three dots next to it.
How to schedule a SimpleTexting campaign to a list or segment
Schedule a text campaign to the Overdue for a cleaning segment of the Patients list for Monday at 9:00, with this wording, and tell me how many people it reaches. - 01
Resolve the audience by name
The agent reads list_lists and, if you named a segment, list_segments for that list. A name SimpleTexting does not have stops the run, so a typo never turns into a send to the wrong list.
- 02
Look for a double
list_campaigns shows what is already scheduled. If a campaign to the same list is waiting for the same day, the agent stops and asks, because two identical texts to one subscriber read like a bug.
- 03
Check the wording before it is final
The text is fixed once scheduled, so the agent shows it to you first with the recipient count of the segment. You change it before anything is created, not after.
- 04
Schedule it
schedule_campaign fills Campaigns > New, sets Send on to Scheduled and clicks Schedule. It reaches subscribers, so it waits for your OK per call until you switch confirmation off for it.
- 05
Read it back
The agent calls list_campaigns once more and reports the campaign with its recipients and send time, so you see what SimpleTexting holds, not what was requested.
What you get back
Scheduled "Flu shot reminder" for Mon 26 Oct, 9:00
Audience: Overdue for a cleaning, list Patients, 120 recipients
Already scheduled for that list: nothing
Text cannot be edited after this; delete it in Campaigns to change it Other ways to ask
- Every Friday at 3 pm, schedule the weekend hours text to the Patients list.
- Show next week's scheduled campaigns and tell me which lists get more than one.
- Schedule the same text to the New this month segment, but show me the recipient count first and do not create it.
What SimpleTexting allows, and what to know first
- SimpleTexting does not let you edit the content of a scheduled message; you can change the send time or delete it, and to change the text you write a new one and delete the old one.
- Scheduled campaigns in SimpleTexting can carry media such as images and PDFs; the agent's call sends text only.
- SimpleTexting can repeat a message hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, and it calls this a recurring campaign, a separate choice from Scheduled.
- SimpleTexting serves businesses in the US and Canada only.
schedule_campaign asks for your OK by default. To run it weekly without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.
