Tripleseat automation · runs weekly
Follow up on tentative Tripleseat events
A Tentative event holds a room while the guest sits on the contract, and nobody notices until a second guest asks for the same date.
Cotlet does it in your own Tripleseat account with list_events, get_event, create_task and set_event_status, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.
Hosted · nothing to install or maintain
Can Tripleseat do this on its own?
Tripleseat creates Automatic Tasks from Settings > Automations, each fired by a trigger action and due a fixed number of days before or after the trigger or the event date (checked 17 Oct 2026). Nothing there picks the Tentative events that have waited too long today. The API can create a task, but only for the event owner or a manager.
How you do it in Tripleseat today
- Open the Calendar and filter by status Tentative to see which rooms are held.
- Open each event and look at the Docs tab and Payments tab to see whether the contract is signed and the deposit paid.
- Open the Tasks tab on the event, click Add Task and choose an assignee, due date, task type and description, and optionally a priority.
- If the guest has gone quiet for good, click Edit, choose Lost, fill in the Lost Reason field and click Update.
- Repeat for every held room, every week, because nothing marks which Tentative events have gone stale.
How to follow up on tentative Tripleseat events
List Tripleseat events that have been Tentative for more than 7 days. Create a high-priority follow-up task for the event owner to chase the signed contract and deposit, and list the ones within 14 days of the event date for me. - 01
Find the stale holds
list_events with status Tentative returns each held event with its created and updated dates, room and owner. The agent keeps the ones older than your threshold.
- 02
Read the event
get_event shows the event owner, the date, the guest count and the amount due, so the task text can name the contract and the deposit.
- 03
Create the task
create_task adds a task to the event for its owner with your due date and priority. The assignee must be the event owner or a manager, so the agent never picks anyone else.
- 04
Flag the urgent ones
Events within your cut-off of the event date are listed for you separately, because a late release leaves the room empty.
- 05
Release only on your word
set_event_status to Lost runs only for events you name, with the reason you give. The agent never marks an event Lost on its own.
What you get back
Tentative events older than 7 days: 6
Tasks created 5 (high priority, due Tuesday):
- Delgado rehearsal dinner, 21 Nov, owner Sam
- Wu holiday party, 12 Dec, owner Jo
Within 14 days of the event, needs you 1:
- Ortiz baby shower, 29 Oct, Garden Room held
Marked Lost after your OK: 0 Other ways to ask
- Every Monday, create a medium-priority task for each Tentative event older than 10 days and list the ones I should call.
- Show me Tentative events for the Garden Room on weekends and create nothing.
- Mark the Tentative events I listed as Lost with the reason "No response" and tell me what was released.
- Create a task for every Tentative event with a deposit still unpaid, due 3 days from now.
What Tripleseat allows, and what to know first
- A Tentative event holds a place on the calendar while the guest signs the Contract and pays the deposit, if you require one.
- Marking an event Lost frees the space on the calendar and keeps all communication and documents for reporting.
- Lost opens a Lost Reason field, and more reasons are added in Settings > Preferences > Dropdowns.
- Task types for reporting are managed in Settings > Preferences > Dropdowns, and a task can carry a priority you filter by on the Tasks tab.
- If the Waitlist status is enabled by a Customer Admin, a waitlisted event moves to Prospect when the event ahead of it falls through.
create_task and set_event_status ask for your OK by default. To run it weekly without you, switch confirmation off for those tools in your dashboard.

Is it safe to connect Tripleseat to Cotlet?
Yes. You sign in to Tripleseat yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Tripleseat once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.
