Weekly Vimeo video performance report
You want to know which videos hold attention. The numbers sit in the Engagement tab, behind date and video filters, and you export a CSV by hand each time.
Cotlet does it in your own Vimeo account with search_videos and get_video_analytics, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.
Hosted · nothing to install or maintain
Can Vimeo do this on its own?
Vimeo shows engagement in the app and says the Engagement analytics are not currently available through the public API (checked 17 Oct 2026). The official MCP server can pull analytics on a Pro plan or above, in beta. Scheduled reports of this table are the gap.
How you do it in Vimeo today
- Go to Analytics in the main navigation and select the Engagement tab.
- Filter by date and by video.
- Read the table: Views, Average % watched, Average completion rate and views at the 1%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% points.
- For one video, open it from your Library and select the Analytics icon in the navigation on the right to see the retention graph.
- Export the table as a CSV if you want it elsewhere, and repeat next week.
How to weekly Vimeo video performance report
Pull engagement for my Vimeo videos for the last 30 days. Show views, average percent watched and completion rate, and name the three videos where viewers drop off earliest. - 01
Pick the videos
search_videos returns the videos you named or the most recent ones, with their IDs, so the report covers the library you mean.
- 02
Read the Engagement table
get_video_analytics reads the table for your date range: views, average percent watched, completion rate and the views at each point of the video.
- 03
Find the drop-off
The agent compares views at 1% and at 25%. A video that loses the most viewers by the first quarter goes to the top of the early drop-off list.
- 04
Report with the caveats
The report says that engagement counts views, not unique viewers, so a replayed segment counts again.
What you get back
Last 30 days, 3 videos
- Onboarding 01: 420 views, 58% average watched, 31% completion
- Pricing walkthrough: 310 views, 64% watched, 40% completion
- Admin training part 1: 190 views, 35% watched, 12% completion
Earliest drop-off: Admin training part 1 (190 views at 1%, 88 at 25%) Other ways to ask
- Compare this month with last month for my five most viewed videos.
- Show only videos with a completion rate under 20%.
- Every Monday, send me the table for videos published in the last 90 days.
What Vimeo allows, and what to know first
- Completion rate counts a view as finished if it played to within 2 seconds of the end.
- Viewers who watch under 30 seconds and do not finish are not counted as engaged views, so the retention peak can sit below total views.
- Impressions are loads of the video, views are starts of playback, and view rate is views divided by impressions.
- The per-video analytics panel needs a paid plan and shows the past 30 days.
Every tool here only reads, so it can run weekly from n8n, Make, Zapier or cron without waiting for your OK.

Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to connect Vimeo to Cotlet?
Yes. You sign in to Vimeo yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Vimeo once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.
