Reply to Yotpo reviews with AI
A shopper leaves a review, nothing happens, and the next buyer sees a store that does not answer. Replies are written one review at a time, in the Reply box.
Cotlet does it in your own Yotpo account with list_reviews, get_review and reply_to_review, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.
Hosted · nothing to install or maintain
Can Yotpo do this on its own?
Yotpo lets you reply from Manage Reviews or from the review notification email, and offers AI-generated replies on the Prime, Premium and Enterprise plans for English reviews (checked 23 Oct 2026). The UGC API reference has no endpoint to reply to a review, and the official MCP covers Discover only.
How you do it in Yotpo today
- In the Yotpo Reviews main menu, open Manage Reviews (formerly Moderation) and filter to the reviews you want to answer.
- On a review, the admin clicks Reply and chooses Reply publicly or Reply via email, then writes the text and sends it.
- A public reply appears on your site next to the review and the shopper is emailed as well. A reply via email reaches only the reviewer.
- Links in a reply use the [text](URL) format, and the URL must begin with http:// or https://.
- There is no filter for reviews without a reply, so the admin checks the comment count of each review.
How to reply to Yotpo reviews with AI
Find published Yotpo reviews from the last 3 days with no reply. Reply publicly to the 4 and 5 star ones with a short thank-you that mentions the product, and draft replies to the low ones for me to approve. - 01
Find reviews with no reply
list_reviews runs with status published and a since date for your window. The agent keeps reviews whose comment count is zero and skips any the shopper wrote about a product you told it to leave alone.
- 02
Separate happy from unhappy
Reviews of 4 and 5 stars get a thank-you that names the product and one thing the shopper said. Reviews of 1 to 3 stars are drafted in the chat for you, not sent, because an apology promises something on your behalf.
- 03
Choose where it shows
The agent replies publicly by default. For a review that mentions an order number or a personal detail, it replies via email so nothing private lands on the product page.
- 04
Check before sending
The agent reads the review again with get_review. If a reply appeared in the meantime, it skips the review. Links are written in the [text](URL) format with a full https address, and emoji are left out because an unsupported one can stop the reply from posting.
- 05
Send and report
reply_to_review sends each reply. By default each one waits for your OK. A reply via email cannot be edited or deleted afterwards, so the agent says which visibility it used.
What you get back
Published reviews with no reply in the last 3 days: 7
Replied publicly 4 (e.g. Marta K., 5 stars, Trail Runner Shoe: thanked, mentioned the grip)
Replied via email 1 (mentions an order number)
Drafted for you 2:
- Sam O., 2 stars: "Sole came loose after a week"
- Lena R., 3 stars: "Runs small" Other ways to ask
- Reply only to reviews with photos, and keep the reply under two sentences.
- Every evening, list published 1 and 2 star reviews with no reply and draft a reply for each.
- Reply via email only to reviews that mention shipping, and tell me which ones.
What Yotpo allows, and what to know first
- A public reply shows on your site beside the review and also emails the reviewer; a reply via email only emails the reviewer.
- An email reply cannot be edited or deleted once sent; a public reply can be edited from Manage Reviews and the change shows on the store at once.
- Replying works on the Free, Starter, Pro, Premium and Enterprise plans; AI-generated replies need Prime, Premium or Enterprise and English reviews.
- A private comment does not stop auto-publishing: the review still goes live 14 days after the shopper submitted it.
- Some emoji are not supported, and one in a reply may prevent it from posting.
reply_to_review asks for your OK by default. To run it daily without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.
