Turn off Airalo eSIM renewals after a trip
You switched on Renewals so you would not run dry abroad. On the last day of the trip, a renewal can still be bought when the eSIM drops to 10% data, for a package you will never use.
Cotlet does it in your own Airalo account with list_esims, get_esim, get_data_usage and set_renewals, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Can Airalo do this on its own?
Airalo has no API for Renewals (checked 12 Oct 2026); the Partner API does not touch personal accounts. In the app, Renewals are a per-eSIM toggle under My eSIMs > DETAILS. Airalo turns them off on its own when the validity period ends before enough data is used. Airalo's help center describes only that per-eSIM toggle, with no switch for all eSIMs at once or for a date, such as the day you land.
By hand
How you do it in Airalo today
- Open My eSIMs in the Airalo app and tap DETAILS on the eSIM from the trip.
- Scroll to the RENEWALS section and set the toggle to OFF; not every Airalo package offers Renewals, and those eSIMs need a manual top-up instead.
- Go back and repeat DETAILS and RENEWALS for every other eSIM from the trip, such as a country eSIM plus a regional one.
- Before the next trip, open each eSIM again and set RENEWALS to ON while it is still in use, since Airalo will not allow it once the data or the validity has run out.
- Airalo keeps the Renewals toggle per eSIM, so a trip with three eSIMs means three DETAILS screens, and one forgotten toggle is easy to miss.

How to turn off Airalo eSIM renewals after a trip
Prompt
I fly home tomorrow. Turn off renewals on every Airalo eSIM from this trip and tell me which ones still have data left. - 01
Scope the trip
The agent reads list_esims and keeps the eSIMs whose destination matches the trip you name, or the ones bought in a date range you give. Home-country or work eSIMs stay out of the run.
- 02
Check which eSIMs have Renewals on
get_esim tells it whether Renewals are offered and enabled. eSIMs that do not offer them, or already have them off, are listed as skipped rather than touched.
- 03
Flag the ones close to a renewal
get_data_usage shows how close each eSIM is to the 10% point where Airalo buys the next package. Those go first in the report, because a renewal already bought is a refund question, not a toggle.
- 04
Switch them off, with your OK
set_renewals with enabled false runs per eSIM after you confirm the list once. Turning on works the same way before a trip, and the agent refuses it for an eSIM whose data or validity has run out, as Airalo does.
What you get back
Example data
Trip: Japan and Asia, eSIMs bought 1 to 6 Oct 2026.
Japan 10 GB (es_48102): Renewals on, 1.4 GB left (14%). Turned off after your OK.
Asia 5 GB (es_48155): Renewals on, 3.9 GB left. Turned off after your OK.
South Korea 3 GB (es_48160): Renewals not offered for this package. Skipped.
Thailand 5 GB (es_48213): not part of this trip. Left as is. Other ways to ask

- Which of my Airalo eSIMs have Renewals switched on right now?
- On the day of my return flight, 24 Oct, switch off Renewals on everything except my Global eSIM.
Before you automate it
What Airalo allows, and what to know first
- Airalo buys a renewal when 10% of the data remains and activates it once the data runs out.
- An Airalo renewal repeats the original package exactly: a 1 GB, 7-day package renews as 1 GB valid for 7 days.
- Airalo Renewals need a saved payment method; Airmoney cannot pay for them, and a failed renewal payment means no renewal and no charge.
- Airalo will not let you turn Renewals on once the data has run out or the validity period has ended, and switches them off itself when validity ends before enough data is used.
- For Airalo packages with calls and texts, a renewal happens only after enough data is used, and the renewed package includes calls and texts again.
set_renewals asks for your OK by default. To run it on a schedule without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.
