Find Discogs wantlist records for sale

Your wantlist has 300 releases. To see what is for sale now, you open each release page and read the list of copies. Most weeks you do not, and a good copy is gone.

Cotlet does it in your own Discogs account with list_wantlist, list_release_listings and get_release, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Can Discogs do this on its own?

Discogs has the Wantlist and lets you open any release page to see copies for sale (checked 17 Oct 2026). The API lists your wantlist and gives each release the number for sale and the lowest price, but it does not return the copies, so a script cannot compare condition and seller. Nothing in Discogs reads your wantlist against the copies for you.

How you do it in Discogs today

  1. You find a release with the search box and open its page.
  2. You click Add To Wantlist on the right-hand side of the release page.
  3. You open your Wantlist to see what you are looking for.
  4. To check availability, you open each release page and read the copies for sale yourself.
  5. When you buy a record, the app has a Move to Collection option that takes the release off the Wantlist and puts it in your Collection.

How to find Discogs wantlist records for sale

Prompt

Go through my Discogs wantlist. For each release, list the copies for sale at or below 25 in Very Good Plus or better. Show me the five best deals and add nothing to any cart.
  1. 01

    Read the wantlist

list_wantlist returns your releases page by page. The agent walks every page, so a long wantlist is checked as one batch.

  2. 02

    Read the copies per release

list_release_listings returns the copies for sale on a release with price, condition and seller. The agent runs it for each wantlist release, and skips releases with no copy for sale.

  3. 03

    Filter by your limits

The agent keeps copies at or below your price and at or above your condition, and drops those from sellers you named as excluded.

  4. 04

    Rank and report

It sorts by price against the lowest copy of the release, picks the best few and gives you the links. It does not buy, so the final click is yours.

What you get back

Example data

Wantlist releases checked: 212
With a copy for sale under your limit: 17
Best five:
- "Night Drive / Blue Room" 12 inch, VG+, 14.00, seller vinylbarn
- "Slow Orbit" LP, NM, 21.50, seller deepcrates
Nothing for sale: 144

Other ways to ask

  • Only releases pressed in the UK, at most 30, any condition from Very Good up.
  • Tell me when a wantlist release has a copy for sale below the price I last saw.
  • Show the wantlist releases with no copy for sale at all.

What Discogs allows, and what to know first

  • Discogs adds a release to the wantlist with the Add To Wantlist button on its release page.
  • The Discogs app has a Move to Collection option that takes a release off the Wantlist and puts it in your Collection.
  • Discogs API requests are limited to 60 per minute with authentication, so a wantlist of 200 releases needs more than one minute of calls.
  • A collection item can only be added from a release page, not from a master page.

Every tool here only reads, so it can run weekly from n8n, Make, Zapier or cron without waiting for your OK.
