Discogs automation · runs weekly
Reprice Discogs listings from the live marketplace
You have 400 listings, and the market moved on many of them. Discogs lets you change prices in bulk, but a bulk change applies one rule to everything you select, not a rule per release.
Cotlet does it in your own Discogs account with list_inventory, list_release_listings and update_listing_price, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.
Hosted · nothing to install or maintain
Can Discogs do this on its own?
Discogs offers a bulk Change Prices action and a CSV import with an Update listing details option (checked 17 Oct 2026). Both apply numbers you decide on beforehand, one rule for the whole selection. The API can update a listing price, but it returns a release only as aggregates, not the copies for sale, so an API script cannot compare a listing with the other copies.
How you do it in Discogs today
- In your Inventory, you select the listings you want to change.
- To select all of them, you filter, select a full page, then select "Select all N items in your inventory."
- You select Change Prices in the action bar, which opens Edit Prices.
- You raise or lower prices by a percent or an amount, or set an exact price, and preview the result before you commit.
- For one listing you select Edit Details, change Listing Price and click Update.
- To know what each price should be, you open each release page and read the copies for sale, which a bulk edit does not do for you.
How to reprice Discogs listings from the live marketplace
List my Discogs inventory. For every listing that is for sale and has been listed more than 90 days, check how many other copies of the release are for sale and the lowest price. Drop my price to match the lowest if the drop is under 10 percent, and list the rest for me. - 01
Read your inventory
list_inventory returns your listings with price, status and release, page by page. The agent keeps those with status For Sale and skips drafts and sold items.
- 02
Look at the market per release
For each listing, list_release_listings reads the copies for sale on that release page. The agent compares condition and price, so a Mint copy is not priced against a Good one.
- 03
Apply your rule
The agent computes the new price from the rule in your prompt, for example "match the lowest copy in the same condition". A drop above your limit is not applied. The listing goes on your list with both prices.
- 04
Change the price
update_listing_price sets the new price on each listing that passed the rule. Each call asks for your OK until you switch confirmation off for the tool.
- 05
Report what moved
The agent lists changed listings with old and new price, and the ones it left for you, so the weekly run is a short read.
What you get back
Listings For Sale checked: 112 (older than 90 days)
Repriced 41 to match the lowest copy
Left for you 9 (drop above 10 percent):
- "Night Drive / Blue Room" 12 inch, 22.00 to 14.00
- "Slow Orbit" LP, 35.00 to 24.00
No other copy for sale: 62, price kept Other ways to ask
- Every Monday, raise by 5 percent every listing that is the only copy for sale on its release.
- Show me which listings are priced above the lowest copy by more than 20 percent, but change nothing.
- Reprice only my 7 inch singles, and only down to 3.00.
What Discogs allows, and what to know first
- Discogs bulk Change Prices works on any combination of listings you select, by percent, by amount or to an exact price, with a preview before you commit.
- Editing one listing in Discogs changes Listing Price, Quantity, Offer Status, Status and Public Comments.
- The Discogs mobile app has no bulk actions, no CSV import and export and no Change Prices window, so a bulk reprice is a web job.
- Discogs API requests are limited to 60 per minute with authentication, so a run over many listings takes minutes, not seconds.
update_listing_price asks for your OK by default. To run it weekly without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.
