Convert approved Jobber quotes to jobs automatically

A client taps Approve in client hub overnight, and the quote waits in Jobber until someone converts it to a job and picks a date and a crew.

Cotlet does it in your own Jobber account with list_quotes, get_quote and convert_quote_to_job, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Can Jobber do this on its own?

Jobber converts a quote by hand from More Actions, one quote at a time (checked 14 Oct 2026). Zapier has a Quote Approved trigger and a Create Job action, but no action that converts a quote, so the link between quote and job is lost. Jobber has no setting to convert approved quotes on its own.

How you do it in Jobber today

  1. Open the Quotes list and find quotes in Approved status. Jobber sets it when the client approves, or when you mark a quote approved after a verbal yes.
  2. Open the quote and read the line items and any required deposit.
  3. Click Convert to Job, the main button on an Approved quote, or More Actions then Convert to Job.
  4. On the job creation page, set the time and date, assign the team and choose the invoicing schedule, then save.
  5. Repeat for each quote. The status of a converted quote stays Converted, so the list does not show what still needs a job unless you filter it.

How to convert approved Jobber quotes to jobs automatically

Prompt

Find Jobber quotes that clients approved and have no job yet. Convert each to a job starting next Monday, assigned to Dan, and list anything with a deposit or a changes request for me.
  1. 01

Find quotes that wait for a job

list_quotes runs with status set to approved. Quotes already in Converted status are not returned, so a quote never gets a second job by accident.

  2. 02

    Check what the quote promises

get_quote returns the line items, the deposit and the client's message. A quote with a deposit not yet paid, or a client message asking for a date, goes to your review list.

  3. 03

    Convert with your defaults

convert_quote_to_job creates the job from the quote's line items with the start date and team from your prompt. Each conversion waits for your OK by default.

  4. 04

    Leave unclear quotes alone

A quote with changes requested is not approved, so it is never listed; the agent reports it so you can amend it.

  5. 05

    Report what is scheduled

The agent lists each new job with client, start date and assigned team, so you can check the schedule at a glance.

What you get back

Example data

Approved quotes without a job: 5
Converted 4, start Mon 19 Oct, assigned to Dan:
- Q-5521 Gutter cleaning, Maria Santos
- Q-5524 Lawn care plan, Green Oak Dental
- Q-5530 Window cleaning, Tom Becker
- Q-5533 Fence repair, Lena Ortiz
Needs you 1: Q-5527 has a client message asking for a Friday start

Other ways to ask

  • Every morning, convert approved quotes under $500 and list the larger ones for me.
  • Convert approved quotes into one job each and tell me which clients have no phone number saved.
  • List approved quotes older than 3 days that still have no job, and convert nothing.

What Jobber allows, and what to know first

  • Jobber moves every quoted line item to the job on conversion, and edits made to the quote afterwards do not appear on the job.
  • You can create several jobs from one Jobber quote by converting it again.
  • Jobber keeps the Converted status on a quote even if the linked job is deleted.
  • A deposit on a Jobber quote needs Jobber Payments, and the client pays it when they select Approve and Pay Deposit.
  • Jobber removes the client's signature when you change the total, deposit, line items, client message, contract or quote number of an approved quote.

convert_quote_to_job asks for your OK by default. To run it daily without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.
